Watching Cassian gently tuck her grandmother into bed and quietly close the door, Ana felt her eyes well up with emotion.

“Let’s go,” Cassian whispered.

Ana nodded, reaching for his hand as they headed out together.

“Let’s take a walk and then come back,” Cassian suggested.

Ana looked at him curiously. “Hm?”

“You want Grandma to come live with us, right?”

Ana nodded. More than anything.

But was it even possible? Her grandmother would never agree.

Cassian squeezed Ana’s hand playfully. “She doesn’t want to live with us because she doesn’t want to be a burden, and she’s not used to it.”

He paused thoughtfully. “But we can help her get used to it. Today she already let me give her a massage. Tomorrow when she wakes up and finds out we stayed the night, she’ll be surprised.
