Chapter 315
Blake’s POV:
In the evening, I knocked on Anna’s door, Nora cradled comfortably in my arms. I knew the past nude photo incident had created both public scrutiny and psychological trauma for Anna.
Last night, I’d only wanted to express how much I’d missed her, but she seemed to misunderstand my intentions for keeping that photo.
That’s why I published my own nude photos. She might think I’ve lost my mind, but I hoped it might alleviate some of the pain the leaked photo caused her. Would she laugh at me? If it could make her smile, I’d welcome it.
The door opened, and Anna’s expectant smile vanished when she saw me instead of Martha.
“What are you doing here?” Her voice turned instantly cold.
My chest tightened at her tone. “Martha had an emergency. She asked me to bring Nora home.”
‘Why are you here?” she repeated, her words clipped.
“Anna, about the photos- I began.
“Nora, did you miss Mommy?” Anna interrupted, reaching for our daughter.
Nora wrapped one arm around Anna’s neck but kept her other hand firmly gripped on my sleeve. “Ma–ma… Da–da!” she exclaimed before falling silent, her eyes wide.
Anna studied Nora’s tired face. “Nora’s exhausted. You should go.” Her voice was cold.
I was puzzled by Anna’s coldness.
“Look, she’s still holding onto my sleeve,” I said, pointing to Nora’s tiny hand. “Let me come in and help with her bath and bedtime. Then I’ll leave, I promise.”
“Nora has me. She doesn’t need you,” Anna replied flatly.
I bent down to Nora’s eye level. “Nora, would you like Daddy to give you a bath and read you a bedtime story?”
Nora blinked her large eyes, hesitating before answering softly, “Want… Daddy…”
My heart swelled with emotion at her words.
Anna watched our exchange, her expression complex. “Fine. Come in. Don’t just stand in the doorway.”
Inside the bathroom, I carefully bathed Nora, creating a foamy crown in her hair that made her giggle. Anna leaned against the doorframe, watching silently.
‘Nora’s such a good girl,” I said softly. “Daddy loves Nora the most.
After the bath, I dressed Nora in her pajamas and carried her to bed. “Once upon a time, there was a little girl…” I began, weaving a story until her eyelids grew heavy and finally closed,
“Goodnight, baby,” I whispered, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead before quietly leaving the room.
Anna led me to the front door, her silence a clear indication that it was time for me to leave
I stood my ground. “About today… are you hurt?”
“Who are you worried about being hurt? Me or Claire?” she countered.

A bitter laugh escaped her lips. “Don’t worry, I’m fine. I’ve already edited and uploaded the clip of me slapping her to social media. I even had o her medicine–the twenty–dollar kind, just like what you bought me years ago.”
‘I’m not worried about her,” I insisted urgently. “I’m worried about you. You’re the for the wrong reasons-
