Chapter 305
Anna’s POV:
I stared at Blake, my phone clutched in my hand.
Raise the child? A bitter laugh escaped my lips before I could stop it.
“What’s so funny?” Blake’s eyes narrowed, his gaze intensely predatory.
“You, I said, shaking my head. “What is this, Blake? Suddenly you want to play responsible?”
His jaw tightened. “Yes, I want to be responsible. For you. For the child.” He leaned closer. “Let’s go to the courthouse first thing tomorrow morning and remarry.”
The absurdity of his suggestion hit me like a slap. After everything he’d done, he thought we could just pick up where we left off?
Really, Blake? That’s your solution?” I pushed against his chest. “I’m done playing your games. I’m out.”
I reached for the door handle, fury coursing through my veins.
Blake’s arm shot out, blocking my exit. He pulled me back against the leather seat.
“Not so fast, he growled. “If you’re not playing with me, who are you running to? Seth?” His voice dripped with contempt. “You have been quite busy these past three years, haven’t you?”
“You have no right- I began, but was cut off by my phone ringing.
Seth’s name flashed across the screen. Blake’s eyes darkened as he glanced at it, then out the window. My stomach dropped when I followed his saw Seth standing by his car, phone to his ear.
“Answer it, Blake commanded. “Afraid of getting caught cheating?”
My body tensed, but before I could decide what to do, my thumb accidentally hit the answer button.
“Anna?” Seth’s voice came through. “Where are you? I thought we were meeting at the entrance.”
Blake pulled me away from the window, pressing his lips against my ear. “I’ve changed my mind,” he whispered. “This works too.”
“Seth, I–I’m sorry, something came up,” I stammered. “I’m on my way home now.”
Without warning, Blake captured my mouth in a bruising kiss, muffling my words.
“Anna? What’s going on?” Seth’s concerned voice filled the car.
I broke away from Blake’s kiss. “Nothing! I’ll call you back-”
Blake snatched the phone. “Anna’s with me. Fuck off,” he snarled before ending the call.
Through the window, I watched Seth’s face transform from confusion to shock. After a moment, he turned and walked away.
Blake Wright,
you
absolute bastard!” I hissed, shoving him hard. “Get off me!”
His eyes darkened. ‘You’re mine, Anna. Tonight, I’m claiming you.”
When I tried to reach for the window, Blake pinned my arms and kissed me again. In desperation, I bit down on his tongue.
He jerked back, blood trickling from his mouth. His eyes blazed as he grabbed my dress, tearing it slightly.

Then, suddenly, he froze. Something shifted in his expression – self–disgust crossed his face. He released me and flung open the car door-
I watched as he slammed the door, straightened his clothes, and punched the hood of his car in frustration.
I seized my chance, slipping into my own car and starting the engine. As I pulled away, I caught a glimpse of Blake watching me with a cold smiles
When I arrived home, Seth’s car was parked outside. He sat behind the wheel, smoking a cigarette,
I approached hesitantly. “You smoke now?”
“Only when I’m worried,” he replied. “Or hurt.”
Seth, I-
‘Do you still want him, Anna?” he interrupted. ‘Just be honest with me.”
“No, I answered quickly. Too quickly.
Seth laughed without humor. “When I touch you, you flinch. When I try to kiss you, you turn away. But Blake can manhandle you, and you let him.”
“That’s not true,” I protested weakly.
“It is,” he said, extinguishing the cigarette. “You talk about having another child with him to keep Nora company, but we both know that’s just an excuse.”
Seth-
‘Have you ever considered that maybe Blake had his reasons for staying away from you and Nora these past three years?”
I froze at his words.
“Go ask him yourself, Seth continued. “I’m heading overseas for a while. But Anna, I’ll wait for you… until you’re married to someone else, I’ll be your backup.”
I watched him drive away. As I turned toward my house, a shadow moved in the darkness.
“Blake?” I gasped as he stepped into the porch light.
‘Did you two break up or just have a fight?” he demanded. “When you left me, did you shed even a single tear?”
Taking a deep breath, I asked, “Blake, is there something you’re not telling me? Is there something between us that I don’t know about?”
He stiffened, but before he could answer, a small voice called out.
‘Mommy! Daddy!”
Nora stood in her pajamas, rubbing her eyes sleepily. Martha appeared behind her, looking panicked as she scooped up my daughter,
‘I’m so sorry, Ms. Anderson! She just ran out when she heard voices, Martha apologized, quickly retreating with Nora.
Blake stood frozen, his eyes fixed on the doorway.
She… he whispered. “That’s your child.”
“Yes,” I said, my voice breaking. “The one you didn’t want.”
Blake’s hand shot out, gripping my wrist painfully. “What do you mean, I didn’t want? Explain yourself!”
1 looked at him, puzzled. “Blake, let’s talk another day. Nora needs me.”

Blake’s grip tightened. “In your heart, everyone always comes before me.
