Blake’s POV:
I stared at the bruise on Anna’s face, the purplish mark standing out against her fair skin. Something twisted in my gut–guilt mixed with anger.
“Mr. Wright is so cheap,” Anna said, her voice dripping with contempt. “How much did these tubes
cost? Twenty dollars?”
I noticed the change in her eyes. Where there was once admiration, even love, now I saw only disappointment and scorn.
“Such high standards, Mrs. Wright,” I snapped.
My fists clenched involuntarily as an image flashed in my mind–Seth Price’s hand touching her injured cheek, his concerned eyes looking into hers.
“Seth offers you a twenty–thousand–and–one–dollar salary and that’s valuable, but me supporting you for four years means nothing?” The word ‘supporting‘ left my mouth deliberately, sharp as a blade. I wanted to hurt her.
The shock in Anna’s eyes gave me a twisted satisfaction. Yes, I wanted her to know that I controlled everything in her life.
“I thought I married for love,” she said quietly. “But you never loved me. Your love isn’t even worth twenty dollars.”
The word ‘love‘ irritated me immediately.
“I’m twenty–nine years old, Anna. Love is for teenagers,” I replied, my voice mocking. But something inside me wavered though.
“Fine. I won’t mention love again,” Anna agreed, and I felt an unexpected twinge of loss.
“You can leave now. To take care of your precious stepsister.”
“Don’t make a fuss over this. You know she’s a dancer, right? If she gets hurt, it’s going to mess up her performances and could totally ruin her career!”
“You should be more understanding. Instead of making these ridiculous scenes!”
“But someone pushed me from behind,” Anna said quietly.
“This is your own fault,” I said coldly, knowing how cruel my words were. “You provoked her. You brought this on yourself.”

“Maybe you should treasure Claire more,” Anna suggested, her voice suddenly gentle. “Keep a closer eye on her so she doesn’t get into more trouble.”
“Are you suggesting. I have an affair with her?” My voice was ice now.
“It might be more exciting than with me,” Anna said, her eyes challenging.
I frowned deeply. How dare she insult Claire like that?
My phone rang, the sound echoing in the hallway.
I answered, maintaining my composure.
James’s voice came through. “Mr. Wright, there’s been an incident with your cars. Mr. Price scraped
them in the parking lot of Wright Group.”
Fury eclipsed shock. This wasn’t just about a car–this was Seth Price deliberately challenging me.
“I understand,” I said, my eyes fixed on Anna’s face. “Don’t worry about repairs. My wife and I will
bring it to Price’s place another day.”
My voice was calm, but a storm raged within. Seth wasn’t merely protecting Anna–he was declaring war. Only his feelings for Anna could explain such boldness against Wright Group.
I hung up and immediately turned to Anna. “How exactly did you contact Seth today?” The
possessiveness in my voice surprised even me.
I moved toward her, instinctively reaching for her phone.
Anna backed away until she hit the wall. Seeing her cornered gave me a strange sense of control. She had nowhere to run now.
I easily unlocked her phone with our wedding anniversary–something warm flickered in my chest when I realized she still kept that password.
Then I saw it–deleted chat logs with Seth. The fire inside me exploded into an inferno. Without thinking, I scooped Anna up in my arms.
I carried her through the door of her apartment. Her body felt warm against mine.
I threw her onto the sofa and stood over her, loosening my tie as my breathing grew heavier. Anger and desire fought for control inside me.
“Blake, what are you doing?“/Her voice trembled, eyes wide with fear.
I didn’t answer. My lips crashed down on hers, claiming her mouth forcefully. I tasted her sweetness

as my hands moved over her body.
She trembled beneath me, and that drove me wild. I wanted to punish her, yet I also wanted her.
I pulled back just enough to look into her eyes. They were conflicted, uncertain. I moved to her neck, biting down just hard enough to make her gasp.
When I saw tears streaming down her face from the pain in her bruised cheek, I paused. A flash of guilt appeared, but the thought of Seth rekindled my rage.
“Why did you delete your conversations with Seth?” I demanded, my voice low and dangerous. “When you feel mistreated by me, you run to him for support?”
My fingers tore at her blouse, buttons scattering across the floor. Her exposed skin made my breathing quicken. The sight of her beneath me sent heat through my body.
I lowered my head to her collarbone, biting hard enough to leave marks. Let Seth see that this
woman has an owner.
“You’re mine,” I growled against her skin. My hand gripped her hip as I pressed against her.
Anna screamed and pulled back. “Stop it, Blake! Please stop!”
