Divorcing My Husband Over His Stepsister's Secret novel Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Anna’s POV:

The clothes Blake had promised weren’t in our hotel room. The butler standing near the window turned to me with a practiced smile.

Mrs. Wright, Mr. Wright has arranged for you to select your attire downstairs,he announced, his perfectly pressed uniform without a single wrinkle. His posture was so straight I wondered if he had a ruler taped to his spine.

As he gestured toward the door with an exaggerated bow that made me want to roll my eyes, I followed him into the hallway.

I noticed how his tone changed when mentioning Blake’s namegenuine respect mixed with a touch of awe. The Wright name clearly carried weight even in this luxury establishment.

Today you can browse freely. Mr. Wright has arranged for the entire prea to be cleared just for you, the butler explained with a flourish. Any outfit that catches your eye, you can simply wear it to your date with Mr. Wright. His eyes sparkled with poorly disguised curiosity.

What a kissass,I thought, though I kept my expression polite.

When we reached the first floor, I couldn’t hide my surprise. The entire highend boutique section was emptyno shoppers, no staff, just racks of designer clothing waiting for me. My fingers unconsciously twisted my wedding ring as I took it all in.

I moved between the racks, touching different fabrics, considering what style would be appropriate for tonight. The plush carpet muffled my footsteps, and the silence was so complete I could hear my own heartbeat.

After trying on several dresses, I finally settled on a dreamy purple evening gown. The strapless design elegantly highlighted my figure, while the slit and flowing fabric created a waterfall effect from the waist down.

Delicate handembroidered patterns adorned the skirtevery stitch a testament to craftsmanship. The color created a beautiful contrast with my amber eyes.

Standing before the fulllength mirror, I turned slowly, pleased with my appearance. I looked elegant yet sexyexactly the impression I wanted to make. As I studied my reflection, I wondered what version of me Blake was hoping to see tonight.

When I entered the restaurant that evening, I immediately spotted Blake waiting in a secluded corner booth.

The dim lighting created an intimate atmosphere, with crystal chandeliers casting a warm glow while soft jazz played in the background.

He stood as I approached, his blue eyes like the deep ocean, drawing me in. His Englishcut suit fit him perfectly, his tie impeccably knotted, and his leather shoes gleaming softly in the light.

He extended his hand to me, the gesture gentlemanly, though I noticed his fingertips were slightly warma hint of nervousness beneath his composed exterior.

I don’t know what a perfect date looks like,he said in his deep voice, but I wanted to give you one.His gaze never left my face as he spoke.

My heart raced, my chest tightening with a familiar feeling. It reminded me of years ago, when I first saw him walking past me. Even then, I knew he was special.

Damn, he’s too handsome to look away from, I thought, unconsciously tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.

Despite his humble words, I could tell Blake was waiting for my compliment. He stood tall, shoulders slightly back, clearly wanting to present his best self to me.

At the table, Blake cut my filet mignon with elegant precision, his long, strong fingers displaying rare tenderness.

His gaze occasionally slipped from my face to my collarbone before quickly looking away, hiding his inner stirrings.

That little expression of yours is ridiculously handsome,I teased, my tone playful though my eyes betrayed genuine appreciation.

Blake raised an eyebrow. Mrs. Wright, you’re so superficial,he said, the corner of his mouth lifting in unusual delight.

Looking at the steak and then back at Blake, I said softly You look more appetizing than the steak. My voice carried just the right hint of suggestion.

Blake leaned forward and whispered, Just filling your stomach. Wouldn’t want you getting hungry later tonight. His eyes flashed with a predatory gleam.

I met his intensity without backing down. Then you’d better feed me more,I replied, biting my lip slightly, amusement in my eyes. As I spoke, I hooked my highheeled foot around his leg under the table.

I felt his muscles instantly tense, his breathing faltering slightly.

Rising slightly, I planted a soft kiss on his cheek, inhaling the crisp scent of his aftershave. Thank you for today,I said, my palm resting against his warm face. It was thoughtful. I really like it.

Blake’s eyes sparkled with warmth as he gently took my hand. If you like it, that’s great. Keep enjoying,he said, his voice low and intimate. His thumb traced small circles on my palm before he reluctantly let go, his gaze fingering on me as he reached for his wine glass.
