126.Chapter 126
Edward saw Jonathan’s expression and assumed Jonathan was upset. After all, nobody would want to hear that an unrelated child resembled them.
Edward then quickly switched up his tone, saying, “Actually, the kid kind of looks like you, but not really, haha!”
Jonathan kept a straight face, his gaze deep and unfathomable.
This made Edward feel more nervous. “I didn’t do anything wrong, did I? If you don’t need me here, I’ll head out.”
Being alone in a room with Jonathan while being grilled by him like this intimidated Edward. Eventually, Jonathan pinched his nose bridge and asked Edward to leave.
‘Why did Miriam say that was her nephew? Could there be some secret about this child?‘ Jonathan wondered, unsure if he was overthinking.
After all, they had done DNA tests from two different DNA testing centers, and Cheryl had arranged for both tests. Could Cheryl, his biological sister, really be lying to him? Nevertheless, Edward was a straightforward guy who always spoke his mind, and Jonathan knew that.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Jonathan snapped out of his reverie and said,
“Come in.”
Irene walked in and invited him for supper. Jonathan wasn’t hungry so he didn’t want to eat yet.
“Edward just left, and even he thinks that kid looks like you. Maybe you should get another DNA test? You said that’s your friend’s child, but who exactly is your friend? You won’t tell us either,” said Irene.
Irene paused, then added. “I’m curious to see what kind of person they are, especially if they have a kid who looks just like you.”
Jonathan’s hand slowly fell from his forehead. “I haven’t dated anyone since I got divorced. Are you saying this child is mine and Teresa’s?”
Irene was speechless. With a hint of disdain in her eyes, she said, “That heartless woman definitely wouldn’t bear you children.”
Jonathan continued, “Exactly. If she didn’t give birth to my child, who else could have? Is another DNA test necessary? Aren’t I just making a fool out of myself?”
Irene was frantic. “So what went wrong? You said you didn’t date anyone. You weren’t in Nareigh for two years either.”
“Teresa also couldn’t have had your child but this kid looks just like you,” added Irene..” Are my eyes playing tricks on me? Is it just a coincidence? Grandpa and I are just overthinking, right?”

126 Chapter 126
Jonathan pressed his lips together and remained silent.
“Can you just get another DNA test done? If the child isn’t yours, I’ll believe it’s a coincidence and won’t mention this again,” said Irene.
She was on the verge of tears. Irene knew Jonathan was amenable to coaxing but not coercion and sometimes tears worked better than arguing with him.
She leaned against the table and continued, “This situation is tough for me. I want a grandchild. But here I am, facing a kid who looks just like you, and you’re insisting he’s not yours. Fine. If he isn’t, then I’ll accept it.”
Jonathan didn’t say anything about whether he would take the DNA test. He walked past Irene and left without another word.
