Chapter5
Shayden’s gaze was fiery as he stared at Kenton’s hand resting on my shoulder.
“Kenton, move away from my wife.”
It was laughable.
When Giles had been bothering me earlier, Shayden hadn’t cared at all, but now he was playing the part of the jealous husband.
I moved even closer to Kenton’s embrace.
“Shayden, haven’t you always been obsessed with my sister? You even call her name in your sleep. It’s disgusting just hearing it!

Shayden, enraged, moved forward, but Feryal quickly wrapped her arm around his, and I saw her whisper something in his ear. He immediately calmed down.
“Sister,” Feryal looked at me.
“I know you’re angry because I’ve come back and stolen your husband’s attention, but the feelings between me and him are in the past. I won’t interfere with your relationship.”

Shayden reached out his hand toward me.
“Phaith, considering you’re just acting out of jealousy, I won’t hold it against you.”
“I’ll give you a chance. Come to me yourself.”
I watched as Feryal stood beside him, his hand reaching out to me with an air of

entitlement. This scene felt all too familiar.r
Back in high school, they had always treated d me this way.
Back then, after Shayden gave me that ambiguous confession, he started waiting for Feryal to finish school so they could walk home together.
We all lived in the same direction, so it made sense that we would walk together.
Shayden had fractured his right hand while playing basketball, and Feryal said she would carry his backpack for him.
He felt bad for her, saying the bag was too heavy, and without hesitation, handed it to me instead.

We weren’t even together, and if I went abroad after graduation, I feared he would change his mind in college.
But to my surprise, shortly after entering university, he started dating my dear sister.
“Phaith, I like Feryal. You don’t need to follow me anymore.”
“It’s fine, Shayden. I can wait.”
