Charles hesitated for a moment, then seemed to make a decision.
“Vicky, please, you have to understand…” Tracy’s voice quivered, her usual composure shattering as she clutched at her chest. “I was left with no choice! My family is facing a financial crisis that I can’t fix alone. This marriage… it was my only way out!”
I hadn’t expected him to be so opportunistic -just a shameless, fame–seeking man.
Three years ago, during a project inspection in Europe, I was caught in a violent storm. As debris flew and the ground cracked open beneath me, I was thrown into darkness. Just when I thought I was lost, he appeared, pulling me from the chaos and saving me.

When I woke up, he was right there by my hospital bed, and that’s when we got together.
“Charles, why deceive yourself?”
“I clearly heard you at the bar saying you planned to marry Tracy Davis, that you only wanted to keep me as a lover on the side.”
Charles turned pale.
“Vicky, I made a mistake. I love you more than anything, but I was terrified you’d leave if you knew the truth. Please, give me another chance. I haven’t married Tracy yet. We can start over, together.”
Tracy lost her temper, shouting furiously.
“Charles, she’s just playing the victim. She’s

the daughter of a powerful family, but she hid it from you for three years, making you believe she was ordinary.”
Tracy stood up. “Do you really think she’ll forgive you after all this? You’ve messed with the wrong woman.”
“Victoria, so what if you’re the daughter of a billionaire? My father is a financial magnate with countless businesses. What do you think you can do to me?”
