Chapter 5
“Tammi! What are you doing? Look at what you’ve done to the office!”
That was Geoffrey’s voice!
I couldn’t see him, my mouth taped shut, and all I could do was desperately try to scream through the tape.
Tammi, with her large belly, walked over, delicately draping her arm around his and coquettishly said, “This bitch is trying to seduce you. She’s pregnant and wants to pin everything on you. I’ve dealt with her for you. What’s my reward?”
Geoffrey turned his head to glance at her, taking a few steps back with disdain, as if Tammi was some kind of filth.

“Is this a playground? Get back to your sit!”
Geoffrey glanced at me for a moment. My long hair, which Tammi’s lackeys had shoved into my mouth, covered most of my face. Blood was pouring from beneath me, and I was in a miserable state.
“She’s the one claiming to be your wife, but she’s been seducing all the male employees in the company. How shameless,” Tammi sneered down at me like I was garbage.
Geoffrey looked at the blood beneath me, his eyes showing reluctance, “Why did you do this to her at the company? Do you realize this is illegal? Call an ambulance!”
“Why did you do this to her at the company? Do you realize this is illegal?”

Chapter 5
Looking into Geoffrey’s eyes, my feelings of grievance and sorrow surged up. Why was he with another woman behind my back?
And my baby, the one still unborn… he hadn’t even opened his eyes to this world!
“She should be left here for everyone to see how disgusting she is!”
Tammi continued to stir the pot, while Geoffrey was already impatient.
“Don’t make me say it again, Tammi, know your place!”
“Geoffrey, help me… my baby…” I managed to lift my head despite the pain, hoping Geoffrey would see me.
But Tammi came rushing over, yanking my hair and slamming my face to the ground.

“Mr. Cantrell, my husband is here. How dare you act shamelessly? Watch me kill you!”
I heard a buzzing sound in my ears. I could no longer hold on and collapsed to the ground.
“The sunflowers at home have bloomed,” I whispered.
This was a secret phrase between Geoffrey and me. It was a phrase we used to encourage each other when we were going through tough times–no one else knew.
