Chapter 147: Alexander’s jealousy
(Aria’s POV)
Alexander had been waiting outside for an unknown amount of time. When he saw me being helped out of
the car by Dominic with his arm around my waist, the joyful smile on his face instantly froze.
His gaze alternated between Dominic and me, gradually becoming angry. His Alpha pheromones spiked with possessive fury that made my wolf bristle beneath my skin.
He walked toward me with heavy footsteps. His leather shoes made deep sounds against the stone
pavement, creating an overwhelming sense of oppression.
“Why are you so late today? I’ve been waiting for you for a long time,” he said, only looking at me with his
deep amber eyes.
He completely ignored Dominic beside me and the protective hand around my waist. This questioning tone
was typical of Alexander from before.
But he seemed to forget that we had already severed our mate bond. I coldly met his gaze without flinching.
“Isn’t Alpha Reed being too controlling?” I replied, my voice sharp with irritation.
Alexander pressed his lips together. Obviously realizing his tone was inappropriate, he quickly tried to
explain.
“Aria, I didn’t mean it that way. I have something important to tell you…”
Before I could respond, Dominic suddenly smiled and patted my head casually. His powerful Alpha scent
wrapped around me protectively.
“Sorry, my mate doesn’t want to talk to you,” he said in a nonchalant tone.
Alexander stared at Dominic with fury that seemed ready to burn a hole through him. His wolf’s aggressive pheromones filled the air, making the atmosphere thick with tension.
Yet he restrained himself from losing his temper despite such obvious provocation. I could see the muscles
in his jaw working as he fought for control.
“Aria, I have something to tell you… it’s very important,” Alexander looked at me intensely.
His amber eyes practically glowed with emotion. The desperation in his voice was something I’d never heard
before.
I frowned slightly, remembering the school uniform incident I had just confirmed with Dominic. Alexander
clearly knew that my feelings for him originated from that event, yet he had never told me the truth.
“Coincidentally, I also have something to say to you,” I replied.
My hand instinctively moved to my belly where my unborn pup was growing. Alexander’s face lit up with joy, appearing humble to the extreme.
Nothing like his former confident Alpha demeanor remained. When Dominic heard I wanted to talk to Alexander, he frowned.

His silver–gray eyes flashed with concern. “Aria, you don’t have to-”
“Wait for me nearby,” I interrupted gently. “Some things need to be settled completely.”
Dominic hesitated for a moment, then nodded reluctantly. He squeezed my hand before walking away, though he stayed within earshot.
Alexander was about to speak about something related to my identity when I interrupted him first.
“Alexander, did you know all along that you weren’t the one who covered me with the school uniform that day?”
His expression went blank for a moment. His wolf’s scent shifted with shock before he found his voice.
“You… know everything?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded firmly. “That person was Dominic.”
Alexander smiled bitterly without saying anything. The light in his amber eyes dimmed considerably, like a flame being slowly extinguished.
“Our relationship has been a complete mistake from the beginning,” I continued, my voice steady despite the
weight of my words.
“Since you never truly loved me, we should stop tormenting each other and let each other go.”
My wolf whimpered softly within me at the finality of my words, but I pushed forward.
“I do love you!” Alexander’s eyes reddened, his Alpha presence intensifying with raw emotion.
“Do you think I would mark someone I don’t love? Do you think my father’s decision alone could make me
mark someone I don’t like?”
I found his words laughable. My wolf scoffed beneath my skin at his desperate claims.
“Is this what your love looks like?” I asked, pointing at him accusingly.
“Since our marking ceremony, you remained cold and distant toward me. You continued to enjoy my wholehearted devotion just as before.”
Alexander’s face crumpled as the truth hit him. He opened his mouth to argue but found no words.
“You once told me to judge people by their actions rather than words,” I reminded him coldly.
“What have you actually done for me? Can you think of a single thing?”
He became flustered, trying to think of what he had actually done for me but finding nothing. The silence
stretched between us like an unbridgeable chasm.
“I was the one giving unilaterally for over ten years while you grew accustomed to taking everything for
granted,” I said with finality.
After a long silence, Alexander finally said hoarsely, “I’m sorry…”
I had heard this phrase from him countless times. If it might have stirred my heart initially, now I felt nothing
but calm indifference.
My wolf was surprisingly quiet, no longer affected by his presence.

“It doesn’t matter,” I replied simply.
