Chapter 146: The Truth Behind the School Uniform
(Aria’s POV)
I couldn’t help but smile at Dominic’s sudden jealousy, finding it genuinely amusing. His silver–gray eyes had darkened with possessive intensity, and his Alpha scent had shifted with unmistakable territorial instincts.
Looking back now, my infatuation with Alexander at first sight seemed rather absurd. How could I have been so blind to everything else around me?
“Are you that jealous?” I teased, watching his jaw tighten slightly.
When Dominic asked if I was too embarrassed to talk about it, I rolled my eyes at him playfully. His
possessive Alpha nature was showing, but I found it endearing rather than irritating.
“Fine, I’ll tell you the whole story,” I decided, since it was all ancient history that I had long since moved on from. My wolf was surprisingly calm about revisiting these memories, no longer stirring with old pain.
“It’s not like it matters anymore anyway.”
Dominic’s expression softened slightly, though his attention remained completely focused on me. His powerful Alpha presence wrapped around me protectively, even as we discussed another man.
I began recounting the incident from our school days, settling more comfortably against him as I spoke.
“It was during a physical training class, and we were all on the sports field at Silverpine High School,” I started, my voice taking on a distant quality as I remembered. “I had my first shift–cycle and stained my
skirt…”
As I spoke, I noticed Dominic’s smile gradually disappearing. His silver–gray eyes were staring at me with an expression of complete disbelief, his powerful Alpha presence shifting subtly.
The change in his demeanor was so dramatic that I paused mid–sentence.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, concerned by his sudden stillness.
“Were you there at the time?” I joked, trying to lighten the increasingly tense atmosphere.
He didn’t answer my question directly, but his scent betrayed a mixture of anxiety and anticipation that made
my wolf stir restlessly.
“Continue,” he said quietly, his voice carrying an odd strain. “Tell me everything.”
I continued describing the memory that had shaped so much of my early feelings for Alexander.
“I was terrified and embarrassed beyond belief,” I said, my voice growing softer. “I wished the whole world would disappear, or that I could just vanish myself.”
Dominic’s breathing had become more shallow, his entire body tense with anticipation.
“Then suddenly, this large school uniform jacket covered me,” I continued, lost in the memory. “Despite everything going dark, it felt like salvation had arrived. Like someone had rescued me from the most humiliating moment of my life.”
I stopped there, perhaps afraid of making Dominic jealous with more details. Or maybe because this memory

still held special significance in my heart.
Even after all the conflicts with Alexander, I still felt tender toward the wolf from that memory. My own wolf whimpered softly within me at the recollection.
“That’s… that’s why you fell for him?” Dominic asked, his voice strangely hoarse.
“Not fell for him exactly,” I corrected. “But it made me notice him. Made me think he was someone special.”
Dominic was quiet for a long moment, his expression complex and unreadable. When he finally spoke, his words hit me like a thunderbolt.
“Silly she–wolf, you got it wrong,” he said, his voice mixing regret and secret joy. “I was the one who covered you with that school uniform!”
I stared at him in complete shock, my mind struggling to process his words.
“What? That’s impossible,” I protested, my wolf stirring with confusion. “The uniform had Alexander’s name on it. I saw it clearly.”
Dominic’s expression showed frustration, particularly at his younger self.
“It really was me, Aria,” he insisted, his Alpha scent shifting with emotion. “I didn’t have my uniform that day, so I used Alexander’s to help you.”
He ran a hand through his dark hair, clearly agitated by the memory.
“I had borrowed it earlier because mine was in the wash. When I saw you there, panicking and trying to hide, I didn’t think twice. I just grabbed the closest jacket and covered you.”
“But why didn’t you say anything?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
“I was worried about your embarrassment,” he admitted, his wolf’s protective instincts evident even in
retrospect. “I thought if I identified myself, it would make you feel worse. So I just… walked away.”
The revelation hit me like a silver bullet to the heart. All these years, I had been treasuring the memory of the
wrong wolf.
The kindness, the protection, the gentle care – it had all been Dominic.
“This can’t be real,” I whispered, but even as I said it, I knew he was telling the truth.
Only someone who had been watching me closely would have noticed my predicament so quickly. How could
Alexander, who didn’t even know who I was back then, have been aware of my situation?
“You’re telling the truth,” I said, the realization washing over me in waves.
Dominic nodded, his silver–gray eyes soft with old affection.
“I’ve been watching you since that first day you gave your speech,” he confessed. “When I saw
couldn’t just stand by.”
He playfully tapped my forehead with one finger, his expression tender.
“Silly she–wolf, you spent years chasing after the wrong Alpha.”
“You’re so understanding,” he praised, his voice gentle. “And so beautiful when you worry about me.”
