Chapter 148: The Birthday Proposal
Chapter 148: The Birthday Proposal
(Aria’s POV)
I was confused for a moment when I stepped out of the elevator on the 8th floor of the herbal remedy company. The entire hallway was transformed into a flower paradise, with elaborate arrangements covering
every surface.
“Did we come to the wrong floor?” I asked, looking around in bewilderment.
I repeatedly confirmed the floor number and saw the company logo, realizing I was in the right place but something was definitely different. The familiar office space had been completely decorated with roses, lilies, and gardenias.
“Dominic, what’s happening?” I asked in a low voice, turning to look at him suspiciously.
He innocently shrugged, his powerful Alpha presence carefully controlled as he claimed complete ignorance.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
His silver–gray eyes sparkled with barely contained mischief, and I immediately suspected he was behind whatever was happening. My wolf stirred restlessly beneath my skin at his obvious deception.
“You’re lying,” I accused, poking his arm gently.
Before he could respond, company colleagues suddenly poured out like a tide from the office doors. The sudden appearance of so many people startled me, and I instinctively retreated.
Dominic protectively held me steady, his Alpha scent wrapping around me reassuringly. His strong hands on my shoulders kept me from stumbling backward.
“Surprise!” the colleagues shouted in unison, bursting confetti into the air around us.
“Happy Birthday!” they chorused, their various pack scents mingling with excitement and celebration.
I blinked in confusion, my mind struggling to process what was happening. “But it’s not my birthday today.”
I looked back at Dominic questioningly, and he was smiling brilliantly. His silver–gray eyes gleamed with pure
mischief and satisfaction.
–
Only then did I realize the truth – it was his birthday, not mine. My face flushed with embarrassment and
annoyance at my oversight.
“I can’t believe I forgot,” I muttered, my pregnant wolf whimpering with distress. “How could I overlook such an important matter?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Dominic said softly, his voice warm with affection.
The female colleagues immediately noticed Dominic holding me and started cheering excitedly. Their enthusiasm was infectious, filling the flower–decorated hallway with joyful energy.
“Look at them! They’re so cute together!” one colleague squealed.
“Alpha Dominic finally has a mate!” another added, clapping her hands.
I felt my cheeks burning with embarrassment and tried to break free from his embrace. But he held me

tighter, his grip firm yet gentle.
“My wound from the moonstone–infused whipping hurts,” he claimed, his voice carrying just enough pain to sound convincing.
I thought to myself that if it hurt, he should let go instead of holding me even tighter. My wolf was surprisingly calm despite my embarrassment, seeming to enjoy his protective presence.
“Thank you all for this wonderful surprise,” Dominic announced, his Alpha authority making his voice carry clearly. “To celebrate, everyone gets a company holiday and a thousand moon–silver bonus.”
The colleagues erupted into even louder cheers and praise. Their excitement was overwhelming, filling the space with congratulations and gratitude.
“Alpha Dominic is the best boss ever!” someone shouted.
“Long live the Alpha King!” another added enthusiastically.
When someone boldly asked if Dominic and I were officially together, he nodded without hesitation. His Alpha authority made the announcement seem completely official and final.
“Yes, Aria has agreed to be my mate,” he confirmed proudly.
The colleagues offered increasingly inappropriate blessings that made me want to disappear. “May you have pups soon!” one called out cheerfully.
“Have two litters in three years!” another added with a laugh.
I wanted to hide in embarrassment, my hand instinctively moving to my belly where my unborn pup was already growing. The irony wasn’t lost on me.
“Alright, everyone,” Dominic said with commanding presence, “my Aria is shy. Go collect your bonuses and
enjoy your holiday.”
His possessive use of “my Aria” sent shivers through me, but his tone ensured the colleagues dispersed quickly with satisfied smiles.
After they left, I felt my face burning with residual embarrassment. “Why did you announce our relationship
so quickly?”
“To prevent you from running away,” he replied simply, then leaned down to kiss my lips softly.
His lips were warm and gentle, sending tingles through my entire body. When he pulled back, his lips lightly grazed my cheek, causing more tingles that made my wolf stir beneath my skin.
“Happy birthday,” I said quickly, trying to distract myself from the intimate moment.
But then I felt regretful for not having a gift prepared for this powerful Alpha who had done so much for me. He deserved something special, not just empty words.
“Just saying it without a gift?” Dominic asked teasingly, his eyebrows raised in mock disappointment.
“I promise to fulfill any wish within my ability,” I said earnestly, my wolf surprisingly eager to please her Alpha
mate.
Dominic’s eyes lit up with a cunning gleam that made me feel like I had walked directly into a carefully laid trap. But I could only nod in agreement, having already committed myself.

“Really? Anything?” he pressed, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.
I reluctantly confirmed, my pregnant wolf somehow trusting despite my human hesitation. “Yes, anything reasonable.”
He pretended to think seriously, his expression becoming contemplative. Then he smiled with devastating charm and dropped his bombshell.
“I want you to complete a marking ceremony with me.”
I was stunned, thinking I had misheard him completely. My wolf suddenly became alert and attentive, recognizing the significance of his request.
“What did you say?” I whispered, my voice barely audible.
Dominic continued in a deep voice, his Alpha presence intensifying with emotion. “From the day I fell in love with you, I’ve dreamed of the day you would become my mate.”
His words carried such sincerity that my heart began racing uncontrollably.
“I want to proudly introduce you as Luna of Shadow Pack,” he continued, his voice growing more passionate. “I want you to call me your Alpha, and for us to run together under the moon for life.”
Suddenly, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a sky–blue jewelry box. My breath caught as he slowly knelt on one knee right there in the flower–filled hallway.
He opened the box to reveal a moonstone ring the size of a berry. The stone was cut into dozens of facets
that reflected colorful light even without bright illumination.
“Aria, be my mate!” he proposed, his silver–gray eyes never leaving mine.
I felt my vision blur with overwhelming emotion. Tears of joy and shock filled my eyes as I processed his
carefully prepared proposal.
“How did you have time to arrange all this?” I asked through my tears, my voice shaking with emotion.
“We only confirmed our relationship today,” I continued, amazed by his thorough preparation.
My wolf was whimpering with happiness within me, recognizing the significance of this moment.
“My birthday wish was for you to complete our marking ceremony on my 28th birthday,” Dominic explained,
his voice tender. “I wanted you to become Luna of Shadow Pack today.”
Through my tears of joy, I could barely speak. But I managed to nod in agreement, my heart overflowing with
love and gratitude.
“Yes,” I whispered, then louder, “Yes, I’ll be your mate.”
