Chapter 145: Confession and Healing

Chapter 145: Confession and Healing

(Aria’s POV)

My pregnant wolf stirred restlessly as I met Dominic’s intense silver–gray eyes, unsure why he had suddenly grasped my hand while I was changing his dressings.

“What’s wrong?” I asked again, my voice barely above a whisper.

Dominic’s throat moved visibly as he swallowed hard. His Alpha pheromones intensified despite his injured

state, filling the space between us with electric tension.

“I can handle the front wounds myself,” he said quietly, his voice rougher than usual. “Could you help me

apply the healing salve to my back first?”

I blinked in confusion. “But it would be inconvenient for you to reach all the wounds alone, especially with

such severe injuries from the moonstone whipping.”

“I insist on doing the front myself,” he repeated, his grip on my hand tightening slightly.

“Why? I’m already here to help, and Dr. Lewis specifically instructed me to handle all the dressing changes.”

Dominic laughed softly, the sound carrying an edge that made my wolf whimper. His silver–gray eyes

darkened as he looked at me with an intensity that made my breath catch.

“I’m afraid I don’t have enough self–control,” he admitted, his voice dropping to a husky whisper.

“Self–control?” I repeated, genuinely confused. “What does self–control have to do with applying medicine?”

Dominic’s meaningful look made heat flood my cheeks as understanding dawned. My face turned bright red

with embarrassment as I realized the implications of his words.

“Oh,” I squeaked, my wolf whimpering softly within me at his powerful Alpha scent. “I… I understand now.”

The air between us crackled with tension as I processed his confession. My pregnant wolf responded to his

Alpha presence in ways that made my skin tingle.

Feeling overwhelmed by the intimacy of the moment, I quickly decided to focus on his back wounds first. At least that way, I could avoid his intense gaze while I worked.

“Turn around then,” I said, my voice slightly breathless. “Let me take care of your back.”

Dominic complied, presenting his wounded back to me. Without his direct eye contact, the task became more

manageable despite the intimate contact required.

I carefully applied the moonberry–infused salve to each lash mark, trying to be gentle while ensuring complete coverage. His muscles tensed slightly under my touch, but he remained perfectly still.

“Does it hurt?” I asked softly as I worked on a particularly deep wound.

“No,” he replied, though his voice was strained. “Your touch is very gentle.”

After finishing his back wounds, I moved to stand in front of him again. His silver–gray eyes immediately

locked onto mine, but I forced myself to focus on the task.

Chapter 145 Confession

I efficiently completed treating the front injuries, trying not to linger on his muscular chest. My hands trembled slightly as I applied the healing salve to the wounds across his torso.

“There,” I said when I finished, stepping back quickly. “All done.”

Dominic put on his shirt, and the air filled with a mixture of cedar and medicinal scents from the moonberry

extract. His movements were careful but deliberate.

When I noticed him preparing to leave, gathering his jacket from the back of a chair, concern flooded through

  1. me.

“Where are you going?” I asked, frowning. “You should be resting.”

“I need to go to Shadow Security,” he replied casually, as if he wasn’t covered in fresh wounds from a moonstone–infused whipping.

“Dominic, you’re seriously injured! You can’t just go back to work like nothing happened”

His Alpha authority was evident as he dismissed my concerns with a wave of his hand.

“This is nothing compared to when I left the pack business alliance months ago,” he said matter–of–factly “That beating was much worse.”

His words hit me like a physical blow. My wolf whined anxiously within me as the full impact of his revelation

sank in.

“You… you left the pack business alliance because of me?” I whispered, my voice breaking.

The pieces suddenly clicked together in my mind. Dominic had abandoned his promising position in the territorial pack alliance – a position that would have secured his future and enhanced his political standing.

He had endured beatings twice for my sake while I remained completely oblivious to his sacrifices.

“I’m so sorry,” I began, tears welling in my eyes. “I never knew, I never realized what you were giving up-

My hand instinctively moved to my belly where our unborn pup was growing, the weight of his sacrifices overwhelming me.

Dominic gently touched my head, his fingers threading through my hair with surprising tenderness.

“Stop,” he said softly. “Everything was my willing choice. You don’t need to apologize for my decisions.”

His words only intensified my emotional turmoil. My pregnant wolf responded to his protective Alpha presence, whimpering at his selfless devotion.

“But you suffered so much because of me,” I protested, tears streaming down my face,

Dominic’s expression softened completely, his powerful Alpha presence becoming gentle and vulnerable,

“Aria, I lived the first half of my life without purpose or flavor,” he said, his voice carrying deep emotion. “I didn’t know what I came to this world for or for whom.”

His silver–gray eyes held mine with absolute sincerity.

And you are the first ray of moonlight that shone into my life,” he continued, his voice growing stronger. Until that territorial gathering months ago, I never had expectations for anything.”

Chapter 145 1

His silver–gray eyes searched mine with desperate hope, his entire being focused on my response.
