Meanwhile, Garan was in a dire rush to kill his opponents so he could get back to his family.
He was surrounded by sharp spikes whirling around him, barraging his enemies with relentless attacks. He targeted their weak spots: Their eyes, their necks, and so on. At this time, one of Killic's eyes was bleeding, while Pol's neck was sliced to about a third.
However, they also were not holding back, using their skills whenever they could, especially now that they were only getting more and more injured. By the time they were nearly spent, they had consumed all of Garan's protection charms.
Fortunately, Bart appeared as reinforcement not too long after that and he immediately started to block Killic. Killic was still several levels stronger than Bart, but two against two was still much better. For now, they managed to hold back the two enemy elites without any more injuries.
At the same time, Bart was also exhausted from his own fights in another place, so the battle didn't feel like it could end any time soon.
Garan's eyes turned red and he drank a mana potion, trying to control the anxiety forming inside of him. However, as the [Aegis] sent him subsequent alerts that it was being damaged, over and over, it was increasingly difficult to keep his cool.
It was as if every damage to the Aegis wall pounded on his heart, too
Bang! Bang!
Bang!
The memory of Althea nearly dying from Fargo's terrorist attack—and later, the memory of his own children being caught in the chaos of the Guia War—crashed into his mind like a tidal wave, overwhelming and relentless.
Although nothing was apparent in his face, the fear and terror that accompanied those images were something debilitating to the core.
Bang! Bang! BANG!
Then he felt it: Cracks.
And then it was completely destroyed.
No!
"Garan!" Bart gasped when he realized he had stopped moving. Even for a second—this could get deadly, especially since he no longer had protection charms!
The bloodied Killic and Pol had already seen his distraction and grinned, immediately lunging towards him.
Bart cursed and grabbed his shoulder, quickly pulling him back, closer to the walls.
Bart specifically targeted heading to the guards' formation, which were ready to open up and take them in as needed, even if they were already stretched thin as it was.
However, Garan—whose eyes had already changed—pushed Bart back towards the walls with surprising strength. Bang! Bart found himself hitting the wall with some force and he was shocked that Garan still had that much power.
He then just stood there without doing anything. Killic and Pol wanted to laugh.
"Finally given up on life, eh?" they yelled, swiping away some of the slaves blocking their way to get a clear shot of him.
Unexpectedly, at this moment, the atmosphere turned cold.
Something heavy descended in the air, causing people to gasp as if they were having difficulty breathing. They had no idea what to make of it.
Unknowingly, at the center of this was Garan himself, whose blue eyes turned a little luminescent with a streak of platinum hair appearing on his head.
As seconds passed, the atmosphere turned colder and frost appeared in places where there shouldn't be. In this area, people's blood turned cold—literally.
The earth underneath Garan immediately started to frost, quickly expanding forward in a conical area, covering a large bulk of the enemy mobs—and completely enveloping the area where Killic and Pol stood.
