After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1281

Everyone knew by now that the old bombs were great… if they were still a village. The old bombs had limited effects on Level 15s, let alone anyone stronger than that.

It was one of the things focused on in the Research Center during the few weeks they had to prepare for Basset.

Interestingly, bombs that damaged high-level individuals weren't dependent on the scale of damage. They didn't want that either. What if they accidentally created a mini atomic bomb that damaged large areas?

This was co-developed by Eugene, Hoffen, and Althea using the skill she obtained from her Master.

After a certain level, it was aether or aether-related things that could cause true damage, which was why elementalists could handle decent weapons just with their elements.

Similarly… they figured that a bomb with more elements could be the way to cause damage to strong people.

They took a full week of focused study before they could create a prototype and, frankly, the three bombs they sent were such.

They were the only bombs they had of this level, so naturally, they wanted to maximize it. When they found out—using the tower's scope—that powerhouses were gathering at an area near the array, they naturally took advantage of it.

They used ingenious paper balls that their wind elementalists controlled. The bombs were small and light—containing more elements than material things—so it floated along with the ball.

They were lucky that the wind was favorable and they used it to their advantage.

Although the bombs still wouldn't be able to kill most people around level 30, it'd hurt them. At the very least, a few people around level 20 should've perished with such a direct drop.

That should hold them off for a bit longer.

...

Of course, after a while, while the majority of the areas were protected well, there were still several spots more vulnerable than others. While Teng and the others were trying to gain their bearing, there were a few targetted spots decided on by the frontliners.

The enemies took advantage of their numbers and levels to handle the projectiles heading toward them. The main contributors to this were the elementalists who created strong winds and earth walls to shield their 'masters'.

Although there were very few leaks, the Basset mob pushed hard, using their advantages as they could, until weak spots were formed.

For example, in a certain area was assigned to a certain white tiger, a team was hurriedly climbing up using all three methods of entry, stretching out the people guarding the place.

Some—mostly slaves—were focused on handling the battlement guards that remained in the area, while the rest were focused on just getting inside.

To win the war and keep their lives, the citizens getting within the walls was the priority. Whether or not they were being cowardly, they didn't care at all!

However, while a few dozen had managed to get through, the rest of them were greeted by a terrifying shadow that loomed over them.

ROARRR!

His massive form crashed into the ranks of the trespassers who reached the battlements. He kicked them all down, sending them plummeting to the ground below.

The momentum carried him down with them, and when he landed on the soil below, the earth shuddered under his feet.
