Maximilian smiled, and plainly said to Clark, "It is quite a nice looking herb, isn't it, our distinguished Clark?"
"It's none of your business, and I prefer to have this weird looking herb lying in my display cabinet until it was rotted rather than seeing it falling into the hands of someone else." Clark grinned and answered.
There was one thing clear enough to Maximilian: Clark's target was not at the herb so-called Hardy Ganoderma — all he wanted here was to show off his power to Maximilian and insult him. Maximilianwas absolutely not going to kneel down to his challenge, and now he chose to add another one million dollars to the auction price.
"You're just not going to give it up, aren't you, little piece of shit?? So be it, I'm adding another one million dollars as well!" Sneered Rowen.
Maximilian, sneakingly lifted the right corner of his mouth and pretending to sigh, said in a pitiful tone, "Fine, if you want that junk, then take it."
The sudden announcement stunned Clark, and the smiling face of Maximilian made him increasingly unpleasant.
Those fellows around Clark, seeing that, began to persuade, "Clark, that son of bitch is just playing tricks on you, intending to induce you to spend unnecessary money on that stupid Hardy Ganoderma!"
"Yes, quit now and do not fall into his trap, Clark!"
People around were all thinking that such a little herb could never cost such a great deal of money, urging Clark to give up the auction.
Hearing the voices of the others, Clark was shaken. He then hesitated for a while and turned to the lady on the stage, "Excuse me, lady there, I'm giving up this stupid game."
The lady then nodded and turned to Maximilian, "Mr. Lee, the extra money you need to pay for Hardy Ganoderma is eight million dollars. Are you sure that you're going to pay for it?"
Clark grinned and looked at Maximilian, imagining what kind of embarrassing response would be given by Maximilian. However, what out of he had expected was that Maximilian nodded his head and said yes with least hesitation, "Of course I am! I'm going to buy that no matter if it is eight million or eighty million dollars."
Connor was shaken when he heard the name of Clark. While a second thought came to him and told him that if he accepted this proposal, it would become an obligation of him to stand against Maximilian, a man who had once helped him.
"Thanks for your offer, Rowen. While my answer is no." Connor waved his hand and said no immediately.
Obviously, Rowen was not going to give up so easily, "Come on, Boss Davies! I know you're a man who would never give up such an opportunity which could establish a relationship between you and the Dragon Sect!"
Connor, smiling but not going to speak anything, thought that Rowen was such a narrow-minded and self-righteous man. "Sorry, but the answer of mine would still be the same. I would stand on the side of Mr. Lee."
Hearing the words of Connor, Rowen was stunned that Connor would refuse the proposal of cooperating with Clark and make clear that he was one of the most solid supporters of Maximilian. He then messaged Clark and told him everything about that.
