In the end, Louie still managed to convince Gregory to attend the party with him.

“What’s going on? Why the long face?” Louie asked curiously. “Are you that unhappy to be with me?”

Gregory tugged at the corner of his lips. “Glad you noticed.”

“Stay grumpy, then,” Louie muttered, annoyed. “You had the nerve to drink alcohol behind my back. Clearly, you don’t take any

of my warnings seriously. Someone in my past life must’ve cursed me so badly that I end up having someone like you who doesn’t follow medical advice.”

Gregory didn’t respond.

Soon, they arrived at the Lancaster residence.

As soon as they got out, they saw Theo arriving at the party as well.

The moment Gregory and Theo’s eyes met, both of them paused mid–step.

Gregory’s expression remained composed, but Theo looked uneasy

He felt that the incident last time had created a subtle rift between them.

Still, he had no regrets. He had only wanted to help Anathea, even if it meant upsetting Gregory.

Theo believed he did nothing wrong. However, when he saw Gregory still focusing on Anathea despite his grave internal injuries, and when Gregory whispered her name repeatedly before being taken into surgery, Theo understood that Gregory’s feelings for Anathea ran far deeper than anything an ordinary person could ever hope to compare to.

Theo felt ashamed of himself. Since Gregory was discharged, he hadn’t had the courage to face Gregory.

So now, as soon as Theo saw Gregory, his first instinct was to avoid Gregory.

He figured Gregory probably didn’t want to see him either.

Yet, Gregory greeted him with a slight nod.

Theo was stunned. His fingers curled slightly, and he was unsure of what to do.

“Why are you still standing out here? Are you trying to moonlight as a doorman?” Louie quickly stepped in to smooth things

over.

He slung his arm over Thoe’s shoulder before hooking the other onto Gregory’s arm. “Come on. Let’s head in!”

Theo stole a cautious glance at Gregory. Seeing that Gregory didn’t seem intent on holding a grudge, Theo quietly let out a sigh of relief and asked with concern, “How are you?”

“Fine. I’m out of serious threats,” Gregory replied calmly.

“I’m glad to hear that.” Theo nodded slightly, looking a little uneasy.

“Let’s schedule a race sometime. Adrian will cover the track fee.”

At that, a spark lit up in Theo’s eyes. “Sure!”

“Your eyes always light up at the mention of racing,” Louie teased “By the way, isn’t it about time you went through with that engagement to Ms. Lancaster?”

Theo’s expression gradually dimmed as he murmured, “Yeah.”

He didn’t have the right to say no.
