The baby couldn’t be saved.
“What?” Theo froze.

The last flicker of hope in Gregory’s eyes was completely extinguished. Adrian saw his steps falter. Gregory looked so unsteady, as if he was about to collapse.
The lights on the corridor shone on Gregory’s face, which had instantly lost all color. Those words felt like a sharp knife piercing straight through his heart.
He clenched his fingers tightly, veins bulging on the back of his hands, his breath and blood seeming to freeze simultaneously. “Greg…” Louie’s eyes flashed with worry as he reached out to support Gregory.
Gregory brushed off Louie’s hand, staring unblinking at the operating room. “What about her?” he asked hoarsely.
What he cared most about was Anathea’s condition.
“Mrs. Sinclair-”
Before Avery could finish, a nurse hurriedly came out and shouted to Avery, “Something’s wrong! The patient is hemorrhaging badly!”
“How could this happen?” Louie’s expression changed instantly.
Gregory’s figure swayed, and he propped himself up on the wall with one hand.
“What’s wrong with you?” Theo looked toward Gregory.
Before he could react, a mouthful of fresh blood surged from Gregory’s throat and splattered onto the pristine white floor. It was a shocking sight.
“Greg!” Adrian reached out to support him, but Gregory’s body went limp as he slid down, kneeling on one knee.
Louie grew even more anxious and immediately came over to help Gregory up. “You know that with your current condition—” Before he could finish, Gregory grabbed his hand tightly.
Blood seeped from the corner of his lips, but he only said, “Quick, get all the Rh–negative blood type O transferred here immediately!”
No matter what, he had to save Anathea first!
The whole hospital felt suffocating, and all the famous obstetricians from Castenea were urgently called in.
“Start the blood transfusion immediately! We must stabilize her blood pressure!”
“The patient’s blood is Rh–negative type O. We don’t have enough in the blood bank!” The nurse’s anxious voice rang out.
They’d said the same thing six years ago as well.
Six years ago, Gregory had stood outside the delivery room. Now, six years later, he stood outside the operating room,
But compared to the calm and composed Gregory from six years ago, the current Gregory was pale, almost about to collapse at any moment.
Yet, he still held on tightly, grabbing Adrian’s hand. “I want access to your family’s blood bank…“.
“Alright, I’ll get it for you.”

Adrian immediately dialed a phone number. “Get Rh–negative blood type O transferred here, and do it fast.”
“I’ll get the helicopter ready!” Theo sprang into action without hesitation, wasting no time.
But the weather was terrible. Even though the Millers‘ blood bank still had the matching blood type, getting it transferred here as quickly as possible wasn’t easy.
The sky was covered by thick dark clouds, and the leaves on the trees fell in the wind.
At the end of the corridor, urgent footsteps sounded.
It was Dominic.
