Graham knocked on the door and walked into the CEO's office of Destiny Corporation, placing a document on Chandler's desk. "Mr. Newton, a new mine has been found in Zynthasia. Would you like to go check it out?"
Chandler leaned back and stared at the ceiling, feeling apathetic. "It's meaningless."
Graham was confused. "I don't get you."
Chandler sat up straight and said seriously, "Money can always be earned, and I think we shouldn't always seek immediate gains. Perhaps it's time to slow down and reflect on what we have left behind for this world."
"Mr. Newton, Destiny Corporation has branches in over 140 states and cities across the country, covering various industries. The economic impact we generate ranks among the top in the nation. What we've left behind are the footsteps of progress, the call for development—"
"Stop." Chandler raised his hand to interrupt Graham. "I didn't ask for a work report. I mean, maybe we can invest in some cultural industries."
Graham sensed something unusual and narrowed his eyes. "For example?"
"I think online literature is quite good," Chandler answered.
"Is online literature also considered a cultural industry?" Graham doubted, wondering how much money the minor endeavor could make.
"Look at you; you're being shallow. Culture deserves equal treatment, and we shouldn't discriminate against it. How about we divide the work?
"You handle the mining, while I test the water on our side first," Chandler said and turned back to the computer, staring intently at the screen displaying a chapter of "The Heiress Reborn: Unmasked Again".
At the same time, Helen's phone received a text message that read, "You've received a royalty income of four million dollars, which has been transferred to Summit Bank. Please check your account."
She immediately called the editor, asking, "What's the four million dollars for?"
Until now, she had only published an online novel under Kaylee's pen name, and it was worth not more than five million dollars. With the publishers, websites, and various intermediaries taking their commissions, it was quite unlikely that she would receive such a large sum of money.
"Are you still unaware of it? You've made history. Kaylee, I knew you would be a hit. We finally made it!" The editor was as excited as a puppy.
"Can you calm down a bit?" Helen couldn't laugh at all. "I want to know what exactly happened?"
