Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1525

The man continued to protest, showing no intention of admitting any fault.

"Yes, I don't carry the Haywell surname, so whatever I do has nothing to do with the Haywell family," Helen replied with confidence. "This is a personal matter between us; since you harassed me, I'm taking one of your hands in return. That seems fair, doesn't it?"

"Wait, wait, wait! Ms. Haywell, Mr. Martinez is just drunk. Please don't take it personally. It's a special day. Let's not blow this out of proportion," the mediator urged, trying to ease the tension.

"Just because he's drunk doesn't mean I should overlook what he's done to me. You men really do get away with too much bad behavior!"

Helen had no respect for those who used intoxication as an excuse. They were adults—everyone had been drunk at some point. Blaming alcohol as if it cleared them of responsibility was disingenuous; the truth was obvious to everyone.

A real man would take responsibility for his actions; those who refused to admit their faults only demonstrated their weakness.

Her words left the mediator speechless, and he fell silent.

"You little brat, I won't let you get away with this!" Diego Martinez fumed. He raised his hand, ready to strike.

Just as Claude prepared to step in, a familiar voice cut through the air.

"Stop!"

Niall strode in from a distance, quickly approaching Helen.

Claude caught a blur out of the corner of his eye, and before he realized it, Niall was standing protectively beside her.

Diego froze, recognizing Niall's voice, his hand awkwardly suspended in midair.

Meanwhile, Diego's arm was already dislocated. He winced in pain, his face contorting in discomfort. "Ouch! Mr. Haywell, you should really keep a tighter leash on your niece. If it had been anyone else—Ah!"

Before Diego could finish his sentence, a foot shot up and connected squarely with his chest. He flew through the air in a perfect arc before crashing to the ground, nearly splitting his backside upon impact.

Diego clutched his chest with one hand, unable to tend to his sore backside. As he fidgeted restlessly, he became quite a comical sight.

A few guests couldn't help but laugh, swiftly covering their mouths to stifle their amusement.

The person who kicked him was none other than Niall.

"I was just joking around. Mr. Martinez, you won't mind, will you?"
