Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1522

"Why?" Jenson asked.

"Just because," Chandler replied, impatience creeping into his voice. "So, are you going or not?"

"Of course I am! I just want to get to the bottom of this," Jenson said with a grin, covering his earpiece. "It's not every day I get entrusted with something like this, so I want to make the most of the opportunity to learn."

"You only need to learn one thing."

"And what's that?"

"Focus on getting things done and save the chatter."

With the tension finally easing, Abraham knew he could no longer avoid the moment. He stepped forward with Diana to wish Claude a happy birthday.

Noticing Abraham's sour expression, Diana quickly nudged him with her elbow. "Come on, lighten up! You're a father, after all. For Katie's marriage, just hang in there a little longer. Once we leave the Haywell family, it's going to take a lot of effort for us to climb the social ladder!"

Despite her encouragement, Abraham's expression remained stoic. As they approached Claude and Helen, they observed that both of their faces were equally grave.

"Mr. Haywell Senior, may you enjoy endless blessings and a long, fulfilling life," Diana said, presenting a carefully selected antique painting with both hands, her expression full of flattery. "This is an authentic piece by Tatum Boone that Abraham and I chose just for you. What do you think? Do you like it?"

Claude rolled his eyes in disdain. "I couldn't care less how fine a painting is; once it's been in your hands, it feels tainted!"

Diana awkwardly held the painting in midair, caught between putting it down and continuing to present it.

Frustration boiling over, Abraham stepped in front of Diana, pointing an accusatory finger at Claude. "You can look down on me all you want, but don't take my wife's kindness for granted! Do you really think you can trample on others' dignity just because you have money?"

"Excuse me?" Claude scoffed. "Didn't you abandon any notion of dignity when my daughter married you?"

"I'm the exclusive designer for the Haywell family's eldest son, so it's only natural for me to be here. What about you? Why aren't you with Germaine today?" Adrian teased, though his expression remained serious.

On the other end of the earpiece, Chandler heard Adrian's voice and was about to interject with a warning. But before he could, Jenson quickly threw him under the bus.

"A real man can't be tied up in romantic feelings all the time. I'm here to handle Chandler's business, so everything else takes a backseat!"

Adrian's mood darkened at this, and without a word, he brushed past Jenson and made his way into the estate.

"Hey, what's up with you?" Jenson called after him, puzzled by Adrian's sudden change in demeanor.

"I wonder who upset him this time?" he asked Chandler.

However, Chandler wasn't in the mood for conversation and simply hung up the call.
