As Helen approached the intersection, she spotted a household staff escorting Seymour out of the Terzian residence. From a distance, she saw her luggage from yesterday carelessly abandoned on the ground.
Katie and Diana were unyielding, pointing at Seymour and unleashing a stream of insults.
After paying the fare, Helen stepped out of the car and marched over. Without a moment's hesitation, she delivered two sharp kicks, sending the staff holding Seymour sprawling to the ground.
She turned to Diana and Katie, her gaze fierce. "Who did this?" she demanded.
When Katie met Helen's steely eyes, panic washed over her, and she instinctively hid behind Diana.
Diana, however, stood her ground, puffing out her chest defiantly. "I was the one who gave that order. So what? Your father already threw you out of this house for your disgraceful behavior.
"You don't belong here anymore. What difference does it make if I kick you out, too? How dare you try to take Katie's room? You brought this on yourself, you shameless woman!"
Helen regarded her with a smirk, unfazed by the outburst. "It's impressive how you can spit out so much nonsense."
Fortunately, Helen had done her homework on Kaylee's background before arriving at the Terzian residence; otherwise, she might have been caught off guard by Diana's taunts.
The Terzian family was certainly recognized for its scholarly heritage, but Abraham's work was mediocre at best, barely enough to make ends meet.
If it hadn't been for Kaylee's mother's substantial financial backing after their marriage, Abraham would never have had the chance to focus on his writing or reach the success he eventually did.
Just as life began to improve, Abraham had an affair with Diana.
Kaylee's mother had distanced herself from her family when she married Abraham, leaving her without support. Seizing the opportunity, Abraham welcomed Diana and Katie into his home, enjoying their shared prosperity.
Weighed down by resentment, Kaylee's mother became increasingly withdrawn and eventually passed away, leaving Kaylee to face a tragic fate on her own.
Meanwhile, Diana and Katie continued their lives of luxury, acting as if nothing had ever happened.
She turned to the household staff, her frustration boiling over. "What are you all just standing around for? Hurry up and help her!"
After witnessing Helen's fury, the staff hesitated, exchanging anxious glances. Intimidated, they recoiled like turtles retreating into their shells.
"You useless lot!" Diana shouted, her anger erupting.
Helen's gaze turned icy as she raised an eyebrow. "Anyway, I'm not the useless one here. If I don't get my belongings back, Katie will be the one to suffer."
Diana gritted her teeth, frustration mounting. After a brief moment of indecision, she relented, pointing at the two household staff. "Are you both deaf? Didn't you hear what Kaylee said? Get moving and bring her things inside!"
"Yes! We'll do it right away!"
While they couldn't overpower Helen, the two burly men quickly got to work, deftly hoisting her luggage.
