Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1461

Ursula felt a blend of amusement and exasperation; it had only been a few days since she met Hobart, and he was already confessing his feelings—he seemed a bit too eager for her taste.

"Thank you," she said, her face brightening with a warm smile as she accepted the flowers and breathed in their sweet fragrance. "I really love these!"

Ursula tactfully sidestepped his advances, not providing a direct answer. With so many cameras filming their every move, she didn't want to put Hobart in an awkward position.

Hobart, however, misinterpreted her subtlety, assuming that if she liked the flowers, she must like him too.

"What about me?" he asked, a hopeful look in his eyes.

"Mr. Combes, you're a wonderful person, and I like you too, but—"

"Chandler!"

Before Ursula could finish, Chandler suddenly collapsed, coughing up blood.

Helen hurried to his side, swiftly checking his pulse. Her expression darkened as she looked at Jenson and Adrian. "Quickly, take him to the room!" she commanded.

A flurry of chaos erupted as everyone scrambled to follow her lead.

Priscilla knelt beside the bed, gripping Chandler's hand as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Chandler, you have to hold on! You can't leave me—I still need you. Please don't abandon me!"

"Everyone, please step back," Helen said, entering the room with a set of needles. "I need to perform acupuncture on Chandler."

Jenson had mentioned that Helen was the one who saved Aaron and Cameron before, so Priscilla didn't try to intervene this time. Overwhelmed with emotion, she stepped aside, struggling to hold back her sobs.

Half an hour passed. After administering the final injection, Helen collapsed to the floor, utterly exhausted.

"Helen!" Jenson quickly helped her to her feet. "Can you hold on? Someone, please go to the kitchen and make a bowl of chicken noodle soup!"

"Yes, Mr. Jenson, I'll take care of it right away!"

When they arrived at the hospital, they found Cameron's condition was even worse than Chandler's. In addition to his injuries from the car accident, he had somehow contracted the same virus that afflicted Chandler.

Even after Helen placed the last needle, Cameron still showed no signs of life. Dried blood marked the corners of his mouth.

The only evidence of life was the fluctuating line on the heart monitor. But that line was steadily drifting closer to flat.

Helen could feel his heartbeat fading, and she was powerless to stop it.

"Helen, please! You have to save Cameron! You can't just watch him die!" Rainey's voice trembled with desperation, nearly breaking.

The intensity of her plea made Helen dizzy, and in that moment of distraction, they both collapsed onto the floor.

Helen frowned, wishing naively for everything to just be a dream. If only she could break this moment, maybe she would wake up and escape it all.
