Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1454

When Taylor arrived at the hospital, he found Caroline already bandaged and receiving IV fluids in a regular ward.

As soon as the men spotted him, they rushed over, eager to express their frustrations about Abigail.

"Taylor, I'm telling you, Abigail has crossed a line. No matter our past issues, she shouldn't have attacked Caroline like that!" one of them exclaimed.

"Exactly! We only went to apologize for your sake, and out of nowhere, she stabbed Caroline. You need to be cautious around someone like her—she's manipulative and dangerous!" another added.

"We've been friends for years; you have to stand up for Caroline!" a third chimed in.

Taylor was overwhelmed by the uproar. "Alright, everyone, enough! Just give me a moment to sort this out, and I'll make sure you get an explanation."

The men fell silent, though their simmering anger was still evident. They believed that if they could blame Abigail for starting the conflict, Taylor would take their side.

"Why don't you check on Caroline?" one of the men suggested with a smirk.

Without thinking much of it, Taylor nodded and pushed open the door to the hospital room.

Inside, he saw Caroline propped up against the headboard, her face pale. When she caught sight of Taylor, confusion flickered across her features.

She hesitated, torn between following her friends' advice and being honest with Taylor. If he saw through her facade, she risked losing him for good.

"Are you okay?" Taylor asked, breaking the silence.

"I'm feeling much better," Caroline replied softly.

Just then, she noticed her friends outside, eagerly urging her to speak up.

After taking a sip of his drink, Taylor replied evenly, "Caroline and the others say you were the one who stabbed her."

"That's right," Abigail said, her eyes steady. "She came at me with a knife, but she couldn't take me on. In the end, she got what she deserved. It's that simple. Do you have any more questions?"

Taylor shook his head. "I understand."

"You believe me?" Abigail asked, with a hint of surprise in her voice.

"Why wouldn't I?" Taylor replied, his gaze locked on his drink. "You're like Helly—quiet and unobtrusive. You've never been one to stir up trouble, so it doesn't add up that you'd set them up."

After a moment's reflection, he gazed up at the ceiling, a wave of nostalgia washing over him. "Honestly, Caroline and the others weren't always this way. Maybe I didn't handle things properly and unintentionally caused her to develop feelings."

Suddenly, he wrapped his arm around Abigail's shoulder. "But you—you're the best. We'll always be good friends!"
