Everyone turned to find Abigail unscathed under the streetlight, casually chewing bubble gum and radiating an air of arrogance.
Caroline stormed over, her eyes blazing with fury. "You knew about the ambush, didn't you?"
"Uh-huh." Abigail raised an eyebrow, not bothering to deny it.
"Who leaked it?" Caroline demanded, shooting a glare at her crew.
"It wasn't me!"
"Not me, either."
"I had nothing to do with it!"
They all quickly distanced themselves from the situation.
"Enough with the finger-pointing," Abigail said calmly. "It wasn't any of them. I just happened to slip a listening device into your bag at the bar last time."
"Did you really eavesdrop on us? How low can you get?" one of the men shouted, anger palpable in his voice.
"So it's wrong for me to eavesdrop, but hiring someone to commit murder is considered honorable?" Abigail retorted, completely unfazed.
The men fell silent, realizing their actions were far worse.
Abigail shot them a disdainful look before turning to Caroline. "If it weren't for that listening device, I wouldn't have known you had feelings for Taylor. It's perfectly fine to like someone, but using those feelings to hurt others is just pathetic.
"However, since you're friends with Taylor, I'll offer you one last chance. Apologize, and I'll act like none of this ever happened."
"Do you really think I'd buy that?" Caroline sneered.
"You don't? So what's your move? Are you going to fight me?" Abigail challenged, her eyes glinting with defiance.
Caroline crumpled to the ground, blood seeping from the wound and soaking her clothes in a deep crimson.
"Caroline!" Several of the men rushed over, quickly lifting her off the ground.
Abigail stood there, cold and unyielding. Her voice cut through the chaos, chilling everyone in place. "Remember this—I'm neither a fool nor blind. Take this as a lesson. Next time, the knife won't land in such a forgiving spot."
With that, Abigail walked out of the alley, not looking back.
"Someone call an ambulance! Hurry!"
The men quickly lifted Caroline and carried her to the side of the road. After one of them called for an ambulance, he hesitated for a moment before dialing another number.
Once the call connected, he exclaimed in a panic, "Taylor, this is bad! Abigail just stabbed Caroline!"
