Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1445

Thinking that it was inappropriate to reject again, Ursula politely grabbed a skewer of chicken wings and took a bite.

"How is it? It's nice, right?" Cheryl looked so excited, as if she was the one grilling it.

"It's not bad." Ursula was very gracious.

Adrian's expression grew sullen, and he was convinced that Ursula didn't dislike the food but him.

"Adrian has nimble fingers; he is exceptionally good at making clothes, so grilling food is easy for him," Priscilla bragged proudly.

"Speaking of making clothes," Cheryl naturally joined in the conversation. "Actually, I've always admired Mr. Adrian's talent. I'm surprised that he is also good at cooking. Whoever marries him will be very happy in this life."

"By the way." She paused and turned to grab Adrian's coat. "My birthday is coming up soon. Mr. Adrian, can I book you in advance to make a gown for me?"

Priscilla rolled her eyes, annoyed by the fact that Cheryl had brought up her own birthday when no one had asked about it. "Adrian is busy with his company; he probably won't have time to take on private jobs."

"Oh, what a pity. I've always had this wish of wearing the gown made by Mr. Adrian to my birthday party. Now it seems like there's no such chance." Cheryl lowered her head in disappointment.

Ursula was like an outsider, calculating the calories of each bite of chicken wing in her head and wondering how much exercise she had to do later to burn it all off.

Adrian's gaze stayed on Ursula. Seeing that she was unresponsive, he unconsciously tightened his fist in his pocket and accepted Cheryl's request rashly. "Ms. Smoke, I can make a gown for you if you need."

"Really?" Cheryl raised her head and jumped up to hug him excitedly. "That's great, Mr. Adrian! Thank you, thank you!"

Priscilla cleared her throat repeatedly to remind the two of them to be mindful of their behaviors.

Only then did Cheryl let go of Adrian and stepped aside, biting her lower lip in embarrassment. "I'm sorry; I got too excited and lost control just now. Mr. Adrian, please don't take it to heart."

With a shriek, Cheryl's miserable face floated above the water, and her hands flailed wildly. "Help! I can't swim."

"Huh?" Priscilla's way of thinking was weird. "I can't swim, and you can't swim. If we both fall into the water at the same time, should my son save you or me?"

They were indeed incompatible.

Helen and the others were at a distance; only Adrian was close by. Seeing that Cheryl moved less and less, he had to remove his coat and jump into the pool to save her.

Jenson came over to look at Cheryl on the ground, who was unconscious, and calmly took a bite of the grilled food in his hand. "She probably needs CPR. Adrian, you should help her till the end."

"Shut up." Priscilla pushed him away in disdain. "Let me do it."

She then crouched down, placing a fist on Cheryl's chest and hitting it with another hand. Once, twice… Cheryl's body kept swaying from the hammering.
