Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1403

Abigail's logic was truly something else.

"What are you talking about?" Helen said, gently pushing Abigail's hand away. "We're in love, not stuck in an arranged marriage."

"Isn't Chandler part of the Newton family? You came to Glendale to pick a husband from their family, didn't you?" Abigail pressed.

"It's a long story; I'll explain later." Helen took Abigail's hand, her tone turning serious. "For now, things are complicated. While you're here, stick close to me and don't wander off alone. I can't risk you getting into any trouble, okay?"

Being a few months older, Helen often treated Abigail like a younger sister. The thought of her getting hurt was simply unacceptable.

"Are you in some kind of trouble?" Abigail asked, her intuition kicking in. "Is it something you can't handle on your own? Do you need me to call my family for help?"

"No," Helen said, lying to reassure her. "It's just a minor hassle, nothing I can't manage."

At this point, Helen still didn't have a clear picture of who was behind everything, and dragging the Fitzgeralds into it could complicate matters even more. It was safer to keep things separate for now.

"Alright then, just remember you can ask for help anytime. We're family, so don't be shy," Abigail said brightly.

"I won't hesitate to reach out," Helen replied with a smile.

"By the way, Helly, now that I'm in Glendale, I was thinking of buying a car to keep at your place. You know, something to drive while I'm here. Would that be alright?" Abigail asked.

"Absolutely! Do as you like. You can also drive any car in the garage whenever you want," Helen said generously.

"Yes! I knew you were the best, Helly! No more talking, I'm off to test drive some cars!" Abigail exclaimed, hugging her excitedly.

"I'm coming with you!" Taylor chimed in, eager to join the fun.

Helen's cars were all custom-modified, and Taylor certainly didn't want to miss the chance to take one for a spin.

With that, the call ended abruptly.

As Helen turned to the side door leading to the backyard, a contemplative look crossed her face.

While she had suspected that Abigail's sudden appearance was tied to something deeper, she hadn't anticipated it would involve fleeing from an arranged marriage.

Though they were best friends, their personalities had always differed.

Abigail might seem carefree on the surface, but deep down, she possessed a romantic soul that believed love was all about destiny. She was resolute in breaking free from her family's constraints to pursue her own freedom.

Helen couldn't help but wonder—if she had been as rebellious as Abigail, would she have ever met Chandler?

Perhaps this was fate working in its own mysterious way.
