Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1388

As Sandra dazedly opened her phone, her expression shifted dramatically.

Inside, she found detailed records of her scheme to transfer the Hathaway family's assets, including the names of everyone involved. If this information got out, she would likely spend the rest of her life in prison.

Stumbling to her feet, she grasped Chandler's hand and knelt before him, desperation lacing her voice. "Mr. Sheridan, please show me mercy. Name your price—I'll do anything if you don't expose me!"

Chandler remained impassive, his expression unwavering.

Helen raised an eyebrow, brushing Sandra's hand aside. "I'm afraid it's too late, Mrs. Hathaway. As I said before, Ms. Hathaway is a bringer of misfortune. You can't escape that fate after spending so much time with her."

Sandra stood frozen, one hand pressed to the ground, utterly at a loss.

Suddenly, a police car pulled up outside. As the door swung open, several uniformed officers emerged. They entered the house, displaying their badges with authority.

One of them announced, "Ms. Sandra, you are suspected of embezzling public funds, falsifying financial records, and hiring a hitman, among other crimes. We have your arrest warrant."

"No, officer, this is a misunderstanding! I didn't do anything—I'm innocent!" Sandra pleaded, panic rising in her voice.

"Whether this is a misunderstanding or not will be clarified following the investigation!"

Without a hint of compassion, the officers quickly cuffed her and led her toward the car.

"Gloria, please help me! Tell them I'm innocent, Gloria—"

Gloria watched silently as Sandra was shoved into the police car, her expression betraying no emotion.

Help her? Did Sandra ever show Gloria mercy when she was on the brink of death?

A smile finally crossed Gloria's face. "Ms. Spencer, how long do you plan to stay in Windspire City?"

"I'm not sure yet. Why do you ask?" Helen replied.

"There's an embroidery competition coming up in Windspire City. My family has a long-standing legacy in embroidery, and I've learned my father's techniques, so I intend to participate.

"But since I have no family left, I was hoping you could cheer for me at the event…" Gloria's voice wavered as she mentioned her loneliness, exposing her deep sorrow.

Helen gently patted her shoulder. "We are your family now, so you don't have to feel alone. When is the competition?"

"Three days from now," Gloria replied.

"Perfect! In three days, we'll go to the venue together and watch you bring home the championship trophy."
