Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1381

Nonetheless, Mia knew that going out like this could draw negative attention to Helen. She hesitated, caught in a dilemma.

Seeing her struggle, Tyrone couldn't help but chuckle. "Are you seriously weighing Helen's reputation against a cheesesteak?"

Mia scratched her head, glancing down. While she didn't want to pick between them, her craving for that cheesesteak was impossible to ignore.

With a resigned sigh, Tyrone said, "Go wash your face and take off your makeup. You can wait for me at home."

With that, he flashed her a confident smile and strode toward the neighborhood entrance.

"Thank you, Mr. Tyrone!" Mia called after him. She knew right then that she would be a lifelong fan of Tyrone.

Half an hour later, Mia held her takeout box close. After savoring the last bite of her cheesesteak, she let out a contented sigh.

"This is delicious! I could really go for another piece."

Tyrone's eyes twinkled with mischief as he pretended to scold her. "I had them add extra meat, and you're still not satisfied? Aren't you worried about overstuffing yourself? I could call the owner and have him send over another portion."

Mia pursed her lips and shook her head. "No, I enjoy this feeling of wanting more. Too much can ruin the experience. One portion is just right; that way, I can savor the flavor longer."

"Fair enough," Tyrone replied, changing the subject. He adjusted his posture and teased, "So, I hear someone might be going through a breakup."

He had suspected as much when Helen first messaged him, and seeing Mia in rough shape earlier confirmed his thoughts.

Mia offered a soft, fleeting smile and lowered her head, avoiding a direct response. In adulthood, silence often spoke louder than words.

Tyrone, always perceptive, didn't push any further. With a carefree smile, he said, "Now that's the spirit! What's so great about love, anyway? Just concentrate on working for Helen, and I'll make sure you get to enjoy delicious food every day!"

"Deal!" Mia blurted out.

Helen crouched down, using the moonlight to illuminate the person's face—it was Gloria, the recent champion of the calligraphy competition.

"I know her," Helen said, looking at Chandler.

Chandler immediately understood and helped lift Gloria, supporting her weight. Helen joined in, and together they rushed her to a nearby hospital.

After receiving emergency treatment, Gloria slowly regained consciousness, her eyes fluttering open.

"What happened to you?" Helen asked gently.

Before Gloria could respond, tears poured down her cheeks, soaking the pillow. "My stepmother doesn't think I'm capable of taking over the Hathaway family.

"She took a bribe of ten million dollars and wants me to marry a 60-year-old man! I'm only 17! I fought back against it, and she… she did this to me…"

"You have every right to report her to the police," Helen said, anger rising in her voice. "You're the legitimate heir of the Hathaway family—what right does she have to control your future?"
