"Alright," Helen said, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she glanced over. "Should I go with Otto or Chandler? Or maybe I should join Otto as Mrs. Newton? What do you think?"
Chandler chuckled. "It's your choice. I'll go with whichever identity you want me to have."
"Not a chance," Helen replied, turning back to face the front. "If you go as Chandler to check out Destiny Corporation's mines, someone might connect you and Otto. It would ruin all your hard work of staying under the radar.
"And if you go as Otto and someone snaps a photo, your mom will definitely make a scene and blame me for 'cheating' on you! You should just go alone! You're the one who created this fake identity, after all!"
"Well, I guess I'll just have to explore those rare-colored emeralds by myself," Chandler said, letting out an exaggerated sigh.
Rare-colored emeralds?
Helen's ears perked up. Wasn't that the source of the radiation?
"I'm in!"
Realizing she had fallen into Chandler's trap, she grabbed his tie and pulled him closer. "Mr. Newton, don't you think tricking your wife like this is a bit underhanded?"
Chandler raised his hands in mock surrender, a playful grin spreading across his face. "Come on, what's wrong with a little playful banter between spouses? It's just a secret way to keep things interesting!"
"A secret way, huh?" Helen's competitive spirit ignited. "Alright, let's have a contest in Windspire City to see who can find more rare-colored emeralds!"
"Are you really sure you want to go head-to-head with your own mentor?" Chandler teased with a smirk.
"Don't you know what it means for a student to surpass their teacher?" Helen shot back, playfully shoving him back into his seat and clapping her hands. "By the time we reach Windspire City, I'll have you buried in the sand!"
…
Helen shuddered at the thought of what might have happened if that acid had hit the woman's face. Scarring would have been the least of her worries; it could have been fatal. The man's intentions were clearly malicious.
"Miss." Helen turned to the woman, astonished by her calm demeanor. After a brief moment, she urged, "You should call the police."
"Right." The woman nodded, pulling out her phone.
Hearing this, the man scrambled to his feet, trying to flee.
Just as Helen was about to chase him, the woman dashed forward. In the blink of an eye, she caught up to him and delivered a swift kick, sending him crashing to the ground. As he struggled to get back up, she quickly stomped on him again.
Her movements were fast and precise, clearly showcasing her combat skills. This fierce display was a stark contrast to her otherwise poised demeanor, leaving Helen utterly astonished.
