Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1372

Just then, Chandler walked over. He casually wrapped his arm around Helen's waist as he stood beside her.

"Mr. Lescher and Mr. Crawford, the competition has been over for a while now. Why aren't you letting my wife leave?" Chandler joked.

"Wife?" Adam tensed, releasing his grip on Helen. He adjusted his glasses, scrutinizing Chandler from head to toe.

He was decent-looking and tall. Along with his muscular build, he gave off an air of sharpness and sensibility. He was just about the right fit for Helen.

Noticing the disdain in Adam's eyes, Chandler felt a pang of exasperation. "Mr. Lescher, do I really look that bad?"

"Whether you look bad depends on who you're compared to," Adam replied, subtly expressing his disapproval.

Chandler let out a sigh, gently squeezing Helen's shoulder as he looked at her. "Did you catch that? Mr. Lescher thinks your taste is lacking. But I see it differently—choosing you as my wife makes me the luckiest person in the world."

The previously awkward atmosphere lightened as Chandler's playful remark effortlessly eased the tension.

Adam's expression stiffened for a moment before he nodded repeatedly. Chandler definitely had a good sense of emotional intelligence.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to take my wife home now. She's pregnant and shouldn't overexert herself," Chandler added with a faint smile.

"What?" Helen was taken aback.

Adam and Augustine gasped, their eyes widening in disbelief.

"What on earth?" Adam shouted, his gaze immediately fixating on Helen's stomach.

Infuriated, he turned to Chandler and yelled, "You bastard! She hasn't even finished college yet. How could you do this?"

Just as Helen was about to clarify that she wasn't pregnant, Chandler pulled her closer and interjected, "What can I do, Mr. Lescher? My wife is just too irresistible. I'm worried she might tire of all my attention, so I thought a little one might help shift the focus."

"Men are always so selfish!" Adam sneered. "You're not fooling anyone! You just want to tie her down with a baby, don't you?"

"Shh. If I hadn't said that, do you think they would've let you leave?"

It hit Helen that Adam and Augustine had completely fallen for Chandler's clever ruse. She couldn't hold back her laughter. She quickly covered her mouth, striving to regain her composure.

Feeling a twinge of guilt, she glanced back, only to find Adam and Augustine still grinning from ear to ear. Unable to contain herself, Helen bit her lip and laughed all the way out of the venue.

Having reconciled, Madelyn and Mason set off on a shopping spree along the university town's food district.

They soon wandered into a high-end men's clothing store. While Mason went to try on some clothes, Madelyn settled into a chair to wait for him.

At that moment, the wall-mounted TV in the store began showing footage of Sadie and Mason's encounters.
