Unmasking Mrs. Newton's Secret Identities novel Chapter 1354

Meanwhile, Sadie relaxed in her bedroom. She was comfortably settled in a single armchair, a flickering scented candle glowing beside her.

Holding a tall wine glass and wearing a sheet mask, she basked in the soft glow of the moonlight. Doing the math, it seemed that the paparazzi should be catching Helen in bed with Otto any moment now.

The thought of Helen's flustered expression filled Sadie with delight, and she tilted her head back, downing the last of her wine in one swift motion.

As the rich aroma lingered on her tongue, her phone began to ring insistently.

Sadie casually grabbed her phone, anticipating that the caller was one of the friends who had spread the word about Helen and Otto's secret rendezvous.

This call was probably to thank her for her "outstanding contribution" to their little scandal.

"Hello," Sadie said, leaning back in her chair and bringing the phone to her ear. "How's it going?"

She expected some grateful flattery, but instead, the caller launched straight into complaints. "Sadie, I've always treated you well, haven't I? How could you do this to me?

"You said it was Otto in the room with Helen, but it turned out to be Chandler! Now I've got a lawyer's letter from Chandler in my inbox, and he's threatening to shut down all the tabloids involved. You've really put me in a tough spot this time!"

Before Sadie could explain, the caller abruptly hung up, leaving no doubt he wanted nothing more to do with her.

As Sadie listened to the busy signal, she was left completely shocked.

Throughout her life, she had always been treated with respect and admiration. She couldn't believe that someone would have the audacity to speak to her like that and then hang up.

Sadie let out a derisive laugh as she reflected on the absurdity. A man of such mediocre caliber didn't deserve her time anyway; she had a line of admirers stretching down two streets, so losing one or two didn't matter.

However, something about the night's events left her uneasy.

"Not exactly," Paul replied. "I was scrolling through Twitter and noticed several magazines publicly apologizing to you. I wanted to check in and see if you're okay."

A slight smile danced on Helen's lips. "At least they know their place. I'm fine, but since you're here, can you find out who sent those paparazzi after me today?"

"No need for that; I already know."

"Who?"

"Sadie," Paul replied indignantly. "One of the editors from those magazines is her classmate. They spoke on the phone earlier this afternoon. If only I had kept an eye on things, you wouldn't have gotten caught in this mess."

"So, it was her all along," Helen said, both amused and incredulous. She couldn't believe that someone who constantly used her name to deceive others still had the nerve to plot against her.
