The day of the ball arrived in the blink of an eye.
The stylist applied light makeup on Samantha, and she chose a white mermaid gown. She draped a fur coat over her shoulders, looking beautiful and elegant.
"Let's pick this sapphire necklace. It matches the color of your eyes perfectly," the stylist suggested, holding a blue gemstone necklace from the jewelry display.
Samantha looked at the necklace hesitantly. "There are too many sapphires. Let's choose a different one."
"Why?" The stylist was puzzled. "There are many sapphires, but I think this one is the most special and beautiful. They look like sapphires, but they're actually very rare blue fluorite. Their uniqueness lies in their ability to emit a brilliant blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light. Wearing this necklace will definitely attract a lot of attention."
For a star, attention was the most essential thing.
Samantha understood the necklace's uniqueness but hesitated because this necklace had been a gift from Shaun. He once said he bought it because it was as beautiful as the color of her eyes.
"Let's switch to another one," Samantha insisted. "If you like it, I'll just give it to you."
Since she wanted to forget Shaun, it was better to let go completely without keeping anything he had given her.
The stylist was taken aback. She knew Samantha was generous but still hesitated to accept. "This is too precious. I can't take it. If you don't want to wear this one, I'll help you pick something else."
With that, she went back into the jewelry room to choose again.
The stylist emerged and glanced at the blue diamond necklace Jameson had put on Samantha. In comparison to the various rare gemstones in the jewelry room, his diamond seemed ordinary and couldn't compete with the rare blue fluorite from earlier.
But since Samantha didn't mind, Eleanor didn't push the matter further.
Jameson was delighted that Samantha accepted his gift, thinking it was a sign that she was willing to accept him.
The two departed. To avoid putting any pressure on Jameson, Samantha chose to ride in his Chevrolet rather than her Rolls-Royce.
An hour later, they arrived at a manor where several luxury cars were parked outside. Jameson's Chevrolet stood out, seemingly a bit out of place among the high-end vehicles.
