"Daddy, Mommy, the sun's shining. Time to wake up." At that moment, there was a knock on the door, followed by Dora's voice drifting from outside.
Then, Lilith's gentle voice could be faintly heard. "Your daddy and mommy slept very late last night, so we should let them continue sleeping. I'll take you out, okay?"
By then, Hera was no longer as exhausted as before. Just as she was about to get up, Bernard pinned her down. "You should continue sleeping. I'll leave the room. Once the staff from the city hall have arrived, I'll wake you up."
Hera was speechless and just assumed that Bernard wasn't being serious. However, after sleeping for a while longer and washing up, she stepped out of the room to see several staff members in uniforms trembling in the living room.
Bernard sat on the couch, building blocks with Dora. Dylan was working on his laptop with Gino at the table in the dining room. Both of them were competing against each other in coding.
Hera guessed that Lilith and the rest had probably gone out since she saw no sign of them.
"Mommy, you're finally awake. Daddy has invited these staff members over to register your marriage." When Dora saw Hera, she put down the blocks in her hands and ran toward her.
Hera wanted to carry Dora, but her lower back was too sore. Instead of picking her up, she held Dora's hand and walked toward Bernard.
"You were serious about asking them to drop by." Hera cast a glance at the staff standing on the side. They looked like they were being punished.
"Hello, Mrs. Killian," the staff members greeted in unison.
Hera nodded in acknowledgment. Bernard rose from the couch and walked toward her. "Are you hungry? You should eat first."
Since it was New Year's, Hera didn't want the staff members to wait too long. She took a few bites to fill her tummy before returning to the living room to get things started.
"Hera, what are you guys up to?" At that moment, Samantha, who had also slept in, came out of the room.
"Let's start," Bernard ordered the staff members, interrupting Hera and Samantha's conversation.
The staff began to set things up for Hera and Bernard to sign the documents. While the couple signed the documents, a few staff members helped them to take some photos to commemorate the important occasion.
Hera and Bernard were made for each other, seeing how attractive they were. They looked so good in their photos that editing wasn't necessary at all.
"Mommy, pass me your phone. I'll take some behind-the-scenes photos for you," Dora offered eagerly.
Since Hera and Bernard were registering their marriage, Dora was determined to take some photos. If anyone dared to call her a fatherless child, she would shove these photos in their face.
But Hera knew Dora's photography skills very well. "Your godmother can take the photos."
