Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 954

The next day, Giselle got up early, ready to wish everyone a happy new year before heading for her personal piano recital. While brushing her teeth, her throat seemed slightly itchy.

She couldn't help but cough a few times. However, she didn't think much of it. She just thought she had irritated her throat while brushing her teeth.

After washing up, she headed downstairs to accompany Lucius for breakfast. As soon as she sat down, a maid hurriedly entered.

"Mr. Killian, Ms. Killian, someone brought a corpse to the residence's entrance to cause a scene. He said that Ms. Killian's the reason his wife is dead," the maid explained.

Hearing that made Giselle's heart jolt. That farmer really came to stir up trouble.

"What's going on?" Lucius glanced at Giselle.

Giselle suppressed her emotions. "What are the guards at the entrance there for? Someone's here to make a scene. Can't they chase the troublemaker away?"

"It's not that simple. The farmer has invited many reporters, and the entrance is currently surrounded. He's claiming that Ms. Killian's negligence is the reason his wife is dead and has asked Mr. Chad for an explanation.

"He's aware of this and is already on his way. He has requested for you to hurry over as well," the maid continued.

Although Bernard had sentenced Chad to house arrest, Chad still remained the head of the family. That was because Bernard took over Killian Corporation without assuming the position of the family patriarch. Since no one in the family could bring Bernard down, Chad continued being the head of the family.

While Chad wasn't as powerful as he was back then, he still held a lot of influence after years of being the head of the family. Hence, Giselle was quite fearful of him.

After speaking, Giselle covered her face and began to cry as if she had been wrongly accused despite acting out of the kindness of her heart.

Hearing that made Lucius rise from his seat and pull her to his side. He said, "If that's the case, you should go outside and clear things up. We can't let the media write nasty things and ruin the Killian family's reputation. Don't be afraid. I'll be there to protect you."

Giselle relaxed after hearing Lucius' assurance and wiped away the tears she managed to force out. She made sure to wear a mask before leaving the house with him.

They took the car, heading for the entrance. As soon as they arrived, they realized that the reporters were not the only ones at the scene.

There were also many police officers, ambulances, and medical workers wearing masks and dressed in protective gear from head to toe. Cordons were also set up to keep the crowd away.
