Under the Heiress' Facade novel Chapter 952

At that moment, Giselle was at the Killian residence watching the live broadcast of Bernard proposing to Hera under the fireworks. Giselle even saw multiple comments congratulating the couple as well as the sarcastic insults thrown at her.

Her chest heaved with anger, and jealousy filled her at the same time. Over the past five years, no matter how hard she tried to get close to Bernard, he never seemed to take notice of her.

If it weren't for them being biologically related and for the sake of Lucius, Giselle believed that Bernard might not even look at her. As she looked at how her paid trends on Twitter were overshadowed, she became so furious that she almost threw her phone aside.

Under Bernard's orders, Giselle was grounded for some time until the days before New Year's.

Since he was no longer keeping an eye on her, she planned to host a personal piano recital on New Year's and invite some wealthy socialites and heiresses. Giselle had hoped to reestablish her image and regain her status as Bernard's beloved niece after embarrassing herself in front of the media.

Giselle originally planned to ask Lucius to bring Bernard to her personal piano recital. That would show everyone that Bernard still cared about her.

Not only did her paid trends not climb up within the top ten trends, but it was overtaken by news related to Hera.

Giselle also never expected that Bernard would propose to Hera in such a grand manner. Hadn't he lost his memories? How did he end up dating Hera again?

All this had completely ruined Giselle's plans. Her personal piano recital tomorrow would turn into a laughingstock.

"Ms. Killian, I have bad news! The woman with tuberculosis from the countryside is dead! Her husband just gave us a call, asking us to reimburse him for his wife's death…" Camila said, having burst into the room in a hurry. Before she could finish speaking, she began to cough all of a sudden.

The spit from her cough flew onto Giselle's face. Giselle had been rather furious, so Camila's coughs gave Giselle a chance to vent her anger.

Giselle kicked Camila aside before taking a wet tissue to wipe her face in disgust. She then scolded Camila, "Can't you cough outside?"

"I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself," Camila apologized between coughs after falling to the floor. She understood Giselle's temperament, so she wasn't angry at all. Instead, she bent her head and continued coughing violently.

Giselle watched Camila cough until her face turned red as if she were about to die any time. Giselle backed away in disgust before exclaiming, "Why isn't your cold getting any better yet? Instead, it seems to be getting worse. As long as you've not recovered, you'd better not come to work. Don't even think about spreading your germs to me!"

After coughing violently, Camila was finally able to catch her breath. She quickly put on a mask she retrieved from her pocket before getting to her feet.

Giselle knew why Camila refused to take leave. She was eager to receive the rewards from New Year's. If Camila wasn't running a cold, Giselle wouldn't have minded.

But since she was coughing so violently, especially after coming into contact with the active phlegm-positive patient, Giselle couldn't help but suspect whether Camila had contracted the virus. After all, her cough seemed to have worsened lately.

With that in mind, Giselle covered her mouth and nose while backing even farther away from Camila even further.

Giselle remarked disdainfully, "Don't I usually give you enough rewards? If you pass on your virus to me, I'll settle you once and for all."

Camila became furious when she noticed the disgust in Giselle's eyes. If it weren't for Giselle insisting on wanting some fruits in the middle of the night, Camila wouldn't have gone out to buy them. She wouldn't have caught a cold, causing her to cough.

After buying the fruits for Giselle, she merely took one bite and complained about the horrible taste before throwing them away.

Since Giselle was her boss, Camila dared not to voice out her complaints. Instead, she decided to quickly inform Giselle of what had happened to the patient before leaving.
