Bernard liked her scent.
Hera rested her head on Bernad's arm, feeling his breath in the crook of her neck. It felt familiar as if someone else had once liked to hold her this way.
"Who was that man?" Bernard's voice suddenly sounded.
Hera snapped out of her thoughts. "What?"
Bernard was displeased seeing her lost in thought. He reminded her, "That man from this afternoon."
Hera knew he was referring to Nicholas. But she also knew Bernard didn't care who Nicholas was. He just wanted to know their relationship.
She broke free from his embrace and turned over, propping her chin up with her hand. She gave him a mysterious smile.
"Isn't it inappropriate to ask so many questions given our relationship?" she said.
Their relationship? What did she mean? Did she mean he was just her one-night stand?
Bernard sneered, "I'm just reminding you I'm a petty man. You're not allowed to be with another man until we've used up a hundred dollars worth of adult products."
"A petty man?" Hera laughed. "In that case, why are you still sleeping with me?"
Bernard's expression remained stern. "You were the one who seduced me first."
"Hmph, you can't blame me for your bad self-control." Hera shrugged.
Seeing his soured expression, Hera teased, "What if I don't listen?"
Bernard turned to the side and opened the bedside drawer to pull out a pair of handcuffs. "In that case, I'll make sure you never leave this bed."
