Dylan pulled Dora aside and said, "What's so good about that? With your intelligence, you wouldn't even know if you've been abducted."
Dora's lower lip protruded as she pouted. She turned to hug Hera's thigh and started complaining, "Mommy, Dyl's awful…"
Crouching, Hera comforted Dora by telling her, "Dyl is right. You can't believe a stranger's words so easily."
Seeing how stoic Dylan looked, Nicholas was immediately reminded of Bernard. Even without doing a paternity test, Nicholas was certain that Dylan was Bernard's biological child.
Hera wouldn't give birth to any other man's children anyway. Therefore, the twins had to be Bernard and Hera's children.
Hera gave birth to the twins, yet Bernard forgot all about her and even tried to erase every bit of her information. Just thinking about it made Nicholas furious.
"I'm not a stranger! I'm their Daddy Three!" Nicholas stepped closer to Hera. "Since you've forgotten all about that man, you might as well become my woman. My family will have no problem raising the twins."
That said, he extended an arm and draped it across Hera's shoulders. But before he even touched her, she swatted his arm away. "You can speak if need be, but don't touch me."
Nicholas fell silent. She was as cold and unapproachable as always.
Sarah broke the awkward silence. "Hera, Mr. Sanderson really cares for you. We've been able to continue operating the clinic because of him."
Nicholas was one of the few patrons of the clinic. It wasn't like he was sick or down with a disease. Every month, he would pay them a visit and have Sarah and Isla prepare a medicinal meal for him to improve his health. And after each meal, he'd pay them a few thousand dollars.
At first, Isla and Sarah would return the money. However, he'd make them shut up by asking them, "Who's the boss here? You can't just return the money without your boss' permission."
Sarah and Isla knew that he didn't just come to the clinic in hopes of meeting Hera. This was his way of helping the clinic pull through.
Hera was rather surprised to hear that. She started to think that maybe she and Nicholas were good friends in the past.
"Really? You're welcome to visit us again when we reopen our clinic."
"Reopen the clinic?" Realization dawned on Nicholas, and he asked, "Are you thinking of renovating the place? I can help you with that!"
