Alex sat at the head of the dining table, staring at Shaun's empty seat.

"Mr. Shaun isn't awake yet. He came back home slightly late last night and had drunk quite a fair bit. Since he has finally fallen asleep, I didn't wake him up for lunch," the butler standing aside explained.

"Where the hell did he go last night? He's already more than 30 years old, but all he knows is to spend his time partying at bars! What kind of nonsense is this? Go and drag him out here," Alex ordered sternly with a stiff expression.

Sandra understood Alex's temperament and was afraid that he would give Shaun a good beating. She hurriedly advised him, "Don't be angry, Alex. Being too angry might affect your health. Besides, isn't he getting engaged soon? Shaun's just too excited and decided to have some fun with his buddies. Once he's married and has children, he'll be more mature."

The idea of Shaun getting married and having kids made Alex's stern expression ease slightly. Alex had no idea how much longer he would live, so his biggest wish was to have his first great-grandchild as soon as possible.

"How can I have a healthy great-grandchild if he drinks all day? It'll affect his health!" Alex lectured but no longer insisted on the butler to wake Shaun up. "He's forbidden to go to the bar tonight! Ask him to spend time with Shannon!"

Sandra dared not to disobey Alex's order. She answered him with a smile, "Will do. Once he's awake later, I'll inform him that the stylist has been booked for 3:00 pm. I'll wake him up when it's time and ask him to go for a styling session with Shannon."

Alex finally nodded with satisfaction and began to eat.

Sandra sighed in relief. Alex had a bad temper, resulting in Shaun getting beaten often from when he was a child all the way to adulthood.

Light injuries meant getting away with scrapes, or he might even end up in the hospital if the injuries were severe. Sandra was terrified of Shaun getting hurt.

Alex's age was catching up to him, so he was no longer as fit as he had been in the past. Sandra was also worried that his health might worsen if he got too upset. Hence, she had to appeal to both sides.

As for Shaun's engagement, Sandra actually didn't expect him to marry anyone. After all, her marriage was arranged, and she knew the unpleasant feeling of being in an arranged marriage. Hence, she wanted Shaun to have the freedom to marry a woman he loved.

However, Shaun had made a deal with Alex, resulting in his engagement. Hence, Sandra wasn't in a position to voice her opinions.

Besides, Shaun knew that Alex never mixed business with personal matters. He would never agree to use his official position to handle private matters.
