They Want Me Back When It's Too Late (Jessica and Brian) novel Chapter 252

Chapter 252

Jim froze instantly, mentally cursing himself for bringing it up.

Jacob had no mood to notice him.

He associated Wanda’s experience with what he was having. Brian and Jessica were also divorced, and Jessica didn’t want him anymore. Although Brian cared about him now, what if Brian started a new family? He would surely stop caring about Jacob.

Jacob realized he had never thought about this before. He had always assumed Jessica would come back one day, but he had been so awful, always making her angry and saying such hurtful things. Jessica definitely wouldn’t want to return.

As Jacob thought about this, he couldn’t hold back his tears anymore.

Just then, a young voice came from the door. Why are you crying?

Jacob looked up with tears in his eyes and widened them at the sight of Wanda in the doorway. Wanda, why are you here?

You left your toys in my ward.Wanda held up the toy Jacob had left behind.

Jacob finally noticed he’d forgotten the toy. He choked back sobs, took it, and thanked Wanda. Jessica had taught him to be grateful to those who helped him.

You’re welcome,Wanda replied maturely, then stared at the tears on his face.

Feeling shy under her gaze, Jacob quickly wiped his face. What are you looking at?

your

Are you crying because your parents didn’t visit? If so, stop that. No one cares anyway,Wanda’s cold words made Jacob suddenly stand up from the

bed.

That’s a lie! Who says no one cares about me? My mom cares about me!Jacob said.

Jim exclaimed in horror, Mr. Atkinson!

Jacob silently added in his heart, At least she used to.’ The next second, he was pushed back onto the bed by the worried Jim.

Unhappily shaking off Jim’s hand, Jacob pointed to the door and said, Jim, please go out first. I want to play with Wanda.

Jim looked at him worriedly, but Jacob frowned and imitated Brian’s tone. Get out!

Jim jumped. Jacob, with a serious face, really looked like Brian.

Glancing at the IV catheter on Jacob’s hand to ensure it was still in place, Jim reminded him to be careful before leaving worriedly. He had a feeling Jacob would really lose his temper if he stayed longer.

Wanda, come here.As soon as Jim left, Jacob jumped out of bed, dragged over a chair for Wanda, and fetched snacks and fruit for her.

Wanda watched Jacob prepare all those things in a hurry and asked, Why are you being so nice to me?

Because I want to be friends with you,Jacob said without hesitation.

You’re lying,” Wanda bluntly exposed him.

Jacob’s expression froze. Seeing this, Wanda knew she was right and turned away.

Jacob quickly said, Okay, I admit I have another reason besides wanting to be friends. I want to askafter your parents divorced, how did you get along with your mom?

Chapter 252

He had tried so hard, but Jessica still ignored him and even seemed more repulsed recently. Jacob began to wonder if he was trying the wrong way, but he didn’t know who else to ask. Then Wanda, who shared his experience, appeared.

How do I get along with Mom?Wanda repeated subconsciously, startled.

Yes. Do you give your mom gifts? Do you show her your report card when exams are over? What does your mom mainly care about with you? Can you tell me, please? I really want to know,” Jacob clasped his hands and pleaded.

Wanda shook her head. Sorry, I can’t help you.

But she understood why Jacob was sadhis mom had also abandoned him. That’s why he wanted her advice on winning back his mother, but she couldn’t help.

Why?Jacob was stunned.

Wanda lowered her head. Because my parents never spend time with me. Even before they divorced, I rarely saw them. In the big house, only maids and nannies were with me. When my parents come back, they just ask them if I’ve been sick recently.

She had never been the child her parents expected. She realized this at a young age, and their divorce only made it more obvious.

Wanda had always been neglected by her parents, so she tried to convince herself not to care, but she couldn’t.

Don’t cry,Jacob said anxiously, seeing Wanda silently shed tears.

Wanda roughly wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. “I’m not crying.

Although her parents didn’t love her, they provided a good life. Wanda knew she should be grateful, but she couldn’t stop crying. They didn’t care about me before the divorce, and after, no one cares what I need or want.
