The price of betrayal (Jack and Ashley) novel Chapter 536

"Isn't this all because of the Spirit of Life Serum? But now, the Spirit of Life Serum is in Mr. Norberg's hands. As long as you follow Mr. Norberg, you'll have access to an endless supply—far more than before, I swear. Mr. Fang, trust me. With Mr. Norberg's support, you could become the undisputed king of the underworld in the entire Eastern State. Isn't that what you want?"

Tyson's relentless words made Fang chuckle softly.

Tyson was pulling out all the stops to save his own life. And to be fair, he wasn't entirely wrong. From a purely logical standpoint, aligning with Owen would seem like the smartest choice. After all, knowing how to adapt to circumstances was what set true survivors apart.

Unfortunately for Tyson, Fang didn't have the guts to betray Nolan.

Fang patted Tyson's head lightly and said with a smile, "You've made some good points, but you forgot one thing."

Tyson froze for a moment, then asked, "What's that?"

"For traitors like you, loyalty and righteousness are probably distant concepts," replied Fang softly. "But let me put it in simpler terms for you—I'm afraid of dying. That's right, I'm scared! Hahaha! I'm not stupid enough to walk willingly toward my own death. So, why on earth would I follow you down that path? Tell me, doesn't that make you the real fool here?"

Tyson stared at Fang in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? Why would you die? You're Fang, the boss of Eastland's underworld! You even defeated Mr. Lynch! Your strength, your power—it's something everyone fears. How could you be afraid of a mere ordinary man?"

A mere ordinary man?

Of all the things Fang had heard about Nolan, this had to be the biggest joke.

Just because Nolan kept a low profile, did that really mean he was just an ordinary man?

"When that time comes, be careful. If Lense is still alive, you might suffer a little less. But if Lense didn't make it… Trust me, even in the depths of hell, you'll regret this more than anything."

With a wave of Fang's hand, his subordinates led Tyson and the others away.

Holding the list in his hand, Fang ordered, "Capture every single one of these people on the list. If anyone dares to resist, don't kill them. But anything short of killing is fine, even crippling them. All of them must be delivered to Mr. Greene for him to deal with personally."

His subordinates immediately set off to carry out his commands.

As Fang looked up at the darkening sky, he murmured softly, "A storm is coming."
