"Talk about a clueless country bumpkin. Even with a stroke of luck and newfound riches, Malcolm's still a complete idiot. He's on the brink of death, and he's still feeling guilty about Nolan? Ha! He actually thinks Nolan would kill all of us for his sake?
"I can't help but wonder where he got such a ridiculous idea. But whatever, let's not dwell on that. Hound, get things ready. If nothing unexpected happens, the elusive mastermind of Myth Group, Nolan, will finally make his appearance tomorrow," ordered Owen.
Hound smiled menacingly. "Don't worry, Mr. Norberg. I know exactly what to do. I guarantee he won't be leaving this place alive."
Owen nodded in satisfaction, but he suddenly seemed to remember something. "By the way, what's going on with Eastland lately? It's been chaotic over here. I've had several people call me, saying the underworld scene in Eastland is searching for someone like crazy. Do you think it's got anything to do with Malcolm's death?"
Hound frowned slightly but quickly shook his head. "That's unlikely. Even if Malcolm's death is involved, it doesn't really matter. These underworld rats? If we hadn't held back, they'd be nothing. It's probably Fang stirring things up over there.
"After all, Fang somehow managed to find a powerful backer and even took down Mr. Lynch. Now, he's the biggest player in Eastland's underworld scene. Not just that, the kid's got ambitions—he's aiming to take over the entire Eastern State's underworld. So, it's quite normal for the underworld to be a mess right now."
Owen nodded thoughtfully. "If it weren't for the family's order to stay out of underworld affairs, there's no way they'd be running wild like this. But I have to admit, these people have gained some real momentum—they're not to be underestimated.
"Arrange a meeting with Fang sometime. It would be ideal if we can bring him under control. If not, avoid any direct conflict for now. Let's wait until everything on my end is fully settled before making any moves."
Hound gave a sharp nod of acknowledgment before turning to leave.
Meanwhile, Nolan was still unaware that Malcolm had already met his end. He had just left the island in the middle of the lake, intending to take both Megan and Jeanne away. However, as they were about to leave, they happened to run into Wayne and Melody, who were out for a walk.
When Wayne and Melody caught sight of Megan, they immediately made their way over.
Nolan stood silently to the side, making no attempt to intervene. Some truths were better revealed through direct experience. If Wayne and Melody saw Megan's true nature for themselves, any lingering affection they harbored would naturally vanish.
Frowning slightly, Wayne looked at Megan and said coldly, "Megan, what's up with your attitude? Is that how you speak to your elders?"
Megan let out a cold laugh. "Elders? You two? Ha! Forget it, I don't even have the energy to argue. Just stay away from me. There's nothing between us anymore. Oh, and enjoy your stay here while it lasts, because soon enough, I'll have you kicked out!
"And another thing—stop calling my name, We're not close. In fact, knowing you is the most humiliating thing that's ever happened to me. From now on, if you see me, please pretend you don't know me. But if you must greet me, do address me as Ms. Turner. Got it?
"If you dare to show me the slightest disrespect again, I won't let you off that easily."
