I looked away, facing my window.

Her eyes teared up as she dashed out of the room.

It pains me to see her in such a manner, but that is the best way to keep Riya safe, hopefully, the pains she feels will wash away, and finally get to understand the reason behind my hurtful words to her.

The same day, Elena called me over to her room, she veers the second I took a step in, holding a piece of paper in her hand.

Hello Salem, I need you to accompany me to a place," She says.

The look she had on gave me the clarity that wherever we were going to isn't going to be a jolly LLB ride.

"Yes Ma'am, but where are we going too?" I asked her.

"You'll see, come on" she walked passed donning a weak smile on.

We got into the car, David, Elena's driver, immediately drove off the second we got in.

I turned my eye and saw how calm Elena was, she veers her eyes elsewhere as we drove past the streets of Elmore city.

I still couldn't place my fingers as to where we were heading too. Shockingly David drove into the exact place everything ended that very day.

Elena walks out of the car.

I walked out of the car, I followed Elena trying to comprehend our visit to the same place she was murdered by dad, my Nanny, and myself.

Does she know I am her son? What will happen now?.

The terrible memories of that very day, flashed before my eyes when I heard Elena's paranoid voice.

"You had the audacity to gun for my life, how dare you!".

Immediately I veered back and saw the man who attacked Elena back at the hospital, he was beaten to a pulp by Elena's goons.

"Ma'am, I thought he was sent to jail, what is he doing here?". I asked

Her attention falls to me the second she took heed of my question, "sal! there's something you should know about me! I don't need the authorities to help to do my job! After all, he attacked me, and now he has five seconds to start talking about who sent him or else, he kisses this world goodbye".

(She whirls her eyes back to him, fiddling to hear him speak).

The man soars his eyes around trying to gather his words, Elena's patience was running thin and I know when that happens anything is possible.

The furious look disappeared the moment I asked her, "nothing, don't worry so much!". She turns her back.

"Okay, but tell me why don't you feel like eating, are you okay?" Once more I asked.

" Look Salem, I am fine, you don't need to get worried about me, I'll be okay, just leave me alone so I can think!". She added.

I listened and left per her instruction. I veered and saw Riya standing behind, she falls her eyes elsewhere and I rode past her.

THE FOLLOWING MORNING

(8:00 pm)

I got up from bed and head down for breakfast, the chairs at the dining table were seated on and the one left was next to Riya who kept a straight face.

"Good morning Salam? Hope you slept well". Elena breaks the silence.

I sat down and turned my eyes to her, "yes ma'am, I did, thank you".

Riya got up from where she was seated and walked upstairs to her room, Elena noticed her strange behavior and shoots a suspicious look at me and I tried so hard not to get choked up by her intense gaze.

We left for the office afterward.

The whole day passed by, yet I had this hutch that something or someone was in danger but who?

Elena asked me to go back home and get some documents for her, I drove back home, and went to her room.
