Are you mad trying to get yourself killed?" He says to me in a rough tone.

I gathered my thought and slapped in just in time before he got another chance to speak.

Riya sees that and rushed out to protest

"What, how dare you?"

Riya raised her hands and almost whacked me.

Amazed she stoped when Elena walked out and asked the reason.

Riya shoots the whole issue out of proportion and blatantly, a startling thing happened, Elena, asked for my side of the story, in which I told on the exact truth Riya forgot to tell her.

Immediately she nudged Riya out of her way and slapped the same person I did.

It's shocking to see Elena wasn't hesitant to defend me, if only she knew the truth that hides behind the curtains.

"Mom, what is this?"

Riya couldn't believe her eyes, "why did you sleep David, mom, I do not like it one bit, Salem here was at fault". She added.

Elena turns and back slapped her.

"Now listen to me, you ungrateful thing, don't you ever think of speaking such rubbish against Salem, ever again, got it?". Elena warns her daughter.

"Yes ma'am"

Riya walks back in with David, who shoots a glint at me.

Guess, maybe the odds are in my favor, if Elena can defend me after a short while of letting me into my house, is my mom, going soft or is she's just acting like she normally does.

"I am sorry, about my daughter's behavior, and trust me, I'll teach her a lesson, please pay no attention to her.

She apologized and left.

I got back into my bedroom and tucked myself to sleep, until the following morning.

My alarm beeped me up, I went downstairs after being Informed I needed to come down for breakfast.

I rode in and saw it was a full house, everyone shoots a smile at me except Riya, she was still pissed of about what happened last night.

"Good morning everyone" I greeted ignoring the childish attitude a grown-up lady, shows to me.

While eating I could notice the sizzle she made, knowingly trying to get me irritated by it, still I ignored her and kept enjoying my food.

"Excuse me, mom".

She gets angry after being aware that her attitude towards me made no effort.

In the attempt to walk out of our presence, she trips and falls flat on her face.

"Urgh".

No one told her to get up after embarrassing herself.

I laughed a little and she sees that.

Like a four-year-old girl, she vents her anger on the floor and walked straight to her bedroom.

Dramatic.

I smiled enjoying the rest of my breakfast.

The whole day ran by quite quickly, I returned home and the moment I took a step forward, a hand pulled me back and throws a push at me, luckily I had quick reflexes.

I bent down as it flung over my head.

I had two options, it was either I pushed his soul out of his body or walk away as a gentleman should, but in all David had so much to say, I almost considered the first option.

"What the hell is going on here?"

Riya rushed in.

Urgh! Ever since I took my step-in, everyone seems to get on my nerves, mainly Riya, she has a way of bringing the worst out of me.

An hour later, I read through the financial statement of the company, it seems like a certain amount of money was missing because the numbers don't add up at all.

"May I come in".

I lifted my gaze and saw Elena standing at the entrance of my room, " yes ma'am" I said as she walked closer.

"Thank you so much for helping out, I know I am asking much but please this company means a lot to me, it was my late father's, but after my husband tried to steal from me, he left the company in disarray".

She lets out.

Wow.

There she goes again, blaming others for her crime, I should wicked witches can never change, a witch will always be one, and my mom is the queen of the witch's Kingdom if there is any.

I had no choice but to play in her game, someday, it will be my turn.

"It's okay ma'am, I understand, Riya told me everything, how have you been doing ma'am".

I replied.

Self-pity was the main aim of getting my fake sympathy.
