Rolin’s friends looked startled as Leo pulled me away and nudged Rolin back into his seat.
“Whoa, man! What’s your problem? We were just talking!”
Rolin’s friends immediately closed in, looking ready to jump in.
I shot Rolín a pleading look, and he quickly stepped in, waving everyone off.
“Chill, guys. We’re all friends here. No need for drama.”
Leo’s anger simmered beneath the surface, though I couldn’t figure out why.
“So, this is Leo?” Rolin broke the tension first.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Rolin. Elizabeth and I were college buddies.”
“We have a personal matter to discuss,” he said icily.
