Chapter 153
Instead, I simply brushed past her, and to my surprise, she was angrier in the face of my indifference than any direct confrontation wek ma
She was so focussed on me that she didn’t even notice Alice nodding quietly to me, as if it’s sending some kind of message.
I smiled in response.
Alice didn’t dare continue to look at me, just jogged to catch up with Sosia’s group of followers.
I kept walking until I reached the meeting building.
The first thing I was going to do, was find Leo.
He’d stayed over at my place last night and had left some important papers hebind.
I knocked gently on the door of the reception room, and his cool voice came from inside.
“Come in.”
I stepped in, and his eyes immediately lit up when he saw me.
He stood up from his desk, smiling in that rare, a
almost boyish way he reserved only for me.
“Why are you here? Did you miss me already?”
His tone was teasing, but the warmth in his eyes was unmistakable.
I rolled my eyes, trying not to let my heart flutter too much.
“Don’t flatter yourself. I just came to drop off the papers you forgot,” I said, placing the files on his desk.
As I turned to leave, he swiftly wrapped his arms around me from behind, pulling me close.
“Leaving already?” he murmured against my ear. “Stay a little longer,”
I felt my cheeks heat up a little and cleared my throat, breaking free of his grip and kicking him lightly in the leg.
“Behave yourself, Alpha,” I warned with a smirk. “Looking forward to your performance at the conference.”
He chuckled, holding up his hands in mock surrender. “I promise, I will please my Luna.”
I left his office and headed to the meeting room for waiting.
As soon as I entered the room, I felt dozens of eyes on me.
There was a mix of admiration, envy, and curiosity.
Some participants even discreetly snapped photos of me on their phones.
It wasn’t too long ago that everyone here saw me as just another pretty face, unworthy of someone like Leo.
But things had changed.
Little did they know that I had achieved much more than they could imagine.
ク
I had won a gold medal in the prestigious piano competition–a feat no one had managed in years–and I was also a legendary race car driver, now back in the spotlight.
It didn’t take long for Leo to arrive and begin his presentation.
As he began to discuss the future cooperation strategy between Silvermoon and Oceanheart pack, different reports were displayed on the large screen behind him.

Suddenly, the screen flickered, and the images changed.
The meeting room grew quiet as the faces of a middle–aged man and woman appeared on the screen
My breath caught in my throat. It was Morpheus and Shakira–my adoptive parents.
They were on a talk show, looking worn and uncomfortable, sitting awkwardly side by side.
“Today, we have with us the parents of the legendary race car driver and renowned pianist, Ms. Elizabeth,” the host announced.
Immediately, murmurs erupted throughout the meeting room.
“Wait, aren’t her real parents famous too? Isn’t her father Orlando Martin, the pianist?”
“Yeah, then who are these two?”
“Is she a fraud? I thought she was legit…”
Sosia, never missing an opportunity to stir the pot, loudly exclaimed, “I heard that our dear Elizabeth abandoned her adoptive parents the moment she made it big. Left them in the dust and didn’t even help them out financially. She even took property that belonged to their pack.”
