The Lady Nun Seeks Justice (Eliza Stonor) novel Chapter 523

liza paused as she looked at him.

Komeel continued, “You can call me ‘Boerkamp.”

Upon hearing that name, Eliza raised an eyebrow slightly.

From what Gilbert had told her, the foreign tribes were made up of several different groups, with the Soulbind Tribe being the largest, leading the others. Most of them carried the surname “Case”

But before the Soulbind Tribe, the foreign tribes had once had a royal family, which was wiped out in the turmoil over a decade ago. None survived.

And the royal family of that kingdom… had the surname “Boerkamp.”

Combined with Korneel’s claim to be “prince“, Eliza was a little suspicious.

But as she carefully studied Korneel’s features, she found no trace of foreign heritage in his appearance.

Did she overthink it? Was Korneel intentionally playing this game? Or was he mixing truth with lies to confuse her?

Unable to figure it out for the moment, Eliza decided to push the doubt aside and continue, “You don’t have to keep testing me. I’m here to find a benefactor. Your people took my benefactor, brought him here, so it’s not strange that I came, right?

“If you’re planning to make a move, I have no choice but to fight for his life with mine.”

Eliza smiled, her seemingly innocent eyes holding an unspoken meaning.

Korneel raised an eyebrow, “I wonder, who exactly is this benefactor of yours?”

Korneel thought she was talking about Hubert, but the next moment, Eliza pointed towards the courtyard.

Following her finger, Korneel saw a man trembling on his knees in silence–Vaughn.

“Him?”

Korneel was taken aback and ordered his men to help Vaughn up.

Vaughn, initially confused, almost lost his soul when they grabbed him by the arm and lifted him.

But when he heard the conversation, he looked at Eliza in bewilderment and said, “I… I’m your benefactor?”

How could he not remember such a thing?

And he had never met Eliza before.

Korneel observed his reaction and raised an eyebrow, “Looks like this doctor doesn’t remember you. Perhaps you’ve made a mistake?”

Eliza shook her head, “I didn’t make a mistake. You’re Vaughn from Healing Hall, right?”

Vaughn nodded in dazed agreement, “Yes, it’s me.”

Eliza was right.

Initially, she hadn’t known, but her little ones had spread across most of Vollult Town.

Finding Vaughn’s identity was no trouble at all.

Eliza smiled, “Do you remember a year ago, a middle–aged man fell into the river by the East Riverbank, unable to swim, nearly drowning? He was rescued, but he was on the brink of death. You were the one who saved him, and that’s how my father lived. After that, my father returned home, and because of some family matters, I’m only now able to thank you for saving him.

Vaughn had not realized at first, but as Eliza spoke, it became familiar.

Father, middle–aged man, riverbank, unable to swim…

Vaughn’s eyes widened, “Wait, are you the daughter of that… that old scholar who fell into the water?”

Vaughn almost blurted it out in his excitement, but quickly caught himself.

Old scholar…” Hubert’s scholarly appearance certainly resembled an old scholar.

  1. me. But this place… it’s clearly dangerous. I wonder if you can handle it.”

However, Korneel suddenly spoke, “Wait.”

Eliza didn’t respond, continuing to walk out.

Vaughn wiped the cold sweat from his brow and followed closely behind her.

Just as they were about to leave, Korneel’s guards suddenly moved. In a flash, one appeared behind Eliza and swung a sword directly at her.

The sound of the blade clashing rang through the air.

The guard’s sword was blocked.

Turning around, the guard saw a figure he hadn’t noticed standing at the side. The slender figure held a sword firmly, blocking his strike.

In the next moment, Tina spun her sword and deflected the guard’s blade, positioning herself protectively behind Eliza and Vaughn, her murderous intent palpable.

Eliza said, “Mr. Boerkamp, I have other things to attend to. If you’re looking to have coffee with me, it’s best to leave it for another time.”

Eliza, fully aware of the noise behind her, didn’t turn around but calmly said those words before leading Vaughn away, Tina following closely.

Korneel stood there, stunned. He looked at his guard and asked, “Rikkert, your sword was blocked?”

Rikkert looked at the sword in his hand, his face serious as he said, “That shadow guard is no ordinary opponent. It’s not just the swordplay; it’s the way she hides her skills. Even though I sensed someone else was in the courtyard, I couldn’t find her. When she appeared, it was silent–extremely terrifying.”

Korneel raised an eyebrow, “It seems that the person who impressed you this much is indeed formidable.”

He asked, “If you fought her, who do you think would win?”

Rikkert narrowed his eyes and said without hesitation, “I would definitely win.”

His serious tone was laced with a hint of disdain as he added, “You should have seen it too. She’s powerful, but after all, she’s just a woman.
