The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 1739

Someone had set up a formation here. The other party's goal couldn't have been as simple as orchestrating a fatal car crash. They intended for Blake to kill the victim in front of everyone. This was a trap targeting Blake!

Realizing this, Wynter clenched her fists tightly. Without alerting anyone, she quietly slipped the red string into her pocket.

This incident's implications were massive. After all, Blake was an internationally renowned racer with an enormous reputation. Ross wasn't an ordinary person, either, but a fellow famous racer with a significant fan base.

For someone like Ross to die in Cascadia, the situation would spiral out of control without concrete evidence to explain what happened. Public opinion couldn't be calmed, and international relations might even be affected.

Wynter knew she had to rely on irrefutable evidence to defend Blake. Since the spirit token was linked to Ross, she had to investigate his personal connections thoroughly.

Wynter didn't hesitate. As soon as she left the crime scene, she made a call to Lancelot.

"I need you to investigate someone—an international racer named Ross. I need to know everyone he's met with recently, and of course, the more detailed the information about him, the better.

"Look into whether there were any frequent spots he visited or if he had close friends here in Cascadia, especially anyone related to the Arcane Way."

"The Arcane Way? Oh my God! Are we talking about Cascadian mediums like in the movies?" Lancelot sounded intrigued, his eyes lighting up. "Leave it to me. Don't worry, my dear Ms. Quinnell. I'll get you the answers in no time!"

Wynter didn't stay on the line to listen to his other remarks. She pulled the string of spirit tokens out of her bag. Spirit tokens required someone to control them—perhaps that person had also been at the scene that day.

With this in mind, Wynter made a video call.

The person on the other end wasn't a stranger—it was Wolf, whom she hadn't seen in a long time.

He hadn't changed much, still as chubby and wide-eyed as ever, though he didn't look particularly happy.

It was understandable. After all, he'd been either following Logan around or sticking close to Dalton.

He quickly gestured with his hand, his dissatisfaction apparent.

Wynter chuckled lightly at this. "I know you miss me. I'll take you out for fried chicken once I'm done here. You can eat as much as you want."

Wynter still didn't fully understand Wolf's hostility toward Dalton. Maybe it was because he carried too much fortune, and Ancient Beasts like Wolf naturally disliked such energy, or maybe it was something else. Once everything settled, she planned to ask him directly.

Looking off into the distance, Wynter lowered her voice. "I need you to handle something for me."

"Rowan's been coaching me well. I'll go get changed now," Tobias replied, his strikingly handsome face lighting up with a flawless, radiant smile.

The director beamed. "Go ahead. It looks like it's about to rain, anyway. We'll continue with the next scene tomorrow."

Tobias nodded before heading off. His assistant hurried over with an umbrella as he approached.

True to his status as a top-tier celebrity, fans wrote him letters and followed him everywhere.

Jacqueline, worried about him getting rained on, quickly brought him a towel. "The role Ms. Quinnell picked for you is such a good fit. I watched that last scene, too—it was amazing."

"Of course. Wynter's taste has always been impeccable." Wynter stretched lazily before murmuring with a soft smile, "I really miss the days spent with her."

Noticing his expression, Jacqueline asked, "What are you thinking about? We should head out soon."

Tobias dried his hair and replied, "I was thinking about Wynter."
