The Heiress’ Return: Six Brothers at Her Beck and Call (Wynter Quinnell) novel Chapter 1736

Blake's fingers froze for a moment after hearing the officer's words.

During races, it was true that slowing down on sharp turns wasn't advisable. However, it still shouldn't have resulted in such a severe accident.

This wasn't the first time Ross had deliberately tried to overtake him. The organizing committee must have records of similar incidents from the past.

Blake had always relied on overtaking from the outside, and by all calculations, a collision was highly improbable. Something was off about today's incident.

Realizing this, Blake's fingers paused momentarily. When he raised his gaze again, his tone was calm. "I need to see my lawyer now."

He didn't trust anyone but Wynter. With that, he slowly closed his eyes.

Upon seeing Blake's unyielding attitude, the questioning officer, Nickson Chandler, became visibly frustrated.

"Do you know where you are? You'll get a lighter penalty if you confess! Resist, and it'll be worse for you!" he barked.

Just then, the door swung open. A colleague stepped inside and addressed Nickson, "Nick, Blake's lawyer is here."

Nickson snorted coldly. "Fine. You can meet your lawyer now. But let me tell you, for a case like this, having a lawyer won't make a difference."

He turned to another officer. "Take him to meet his lawyer. Don't go over half an hour."

Blake rose to his feet under the officer's watchful gaze. As he glanced up slightly, his strikingly handsome face finally showed a subtle change in expression.

Soon, Blake was brought to the visitation room where Wynter was waiting.

As soon as the door opened, Wynter turned to look at him, and he glanced back at her. Neither of them spoke immediately.

Who would have thought that their first meeting would be in a place like this?

Wynter raised her eyes. "Alright, I'll investigate. Wait for me."

Hearing this, Blake was momentarily dazed.

Neither of them had anticipated that their first meeting would take place in a police station—and that Blake would need Wynter's help to uncover the truth. A trace of guilt appeared on Blake's handsome face as he thought about it.

Wynter seemed to have noticed this and quickly added, "Blake, take care of yourself. I'll get you out of here."

The timer suddenly beeped, signaling the end of their time.

The officer outside the door entered as promised. "Time's up. The lawyer needs to leave. Blake, come with me."

Wynter exchanged a glance with Blake, then wasted no time. She walked straight out of the police station and mounted her superbike. Without hesitation, she sped off toward the scene of the accident.
