The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage novel Chapter 2675

Jeeves considered Frank's suggestion and nodded in agreement—as long as the archaeologist stayed away and Frank only told him like it was a tale, they could avoid exposing their own secret.

Still, he said, "It works for me, but I'm not sure if your archaeologist is the real deal."

Frank chuckled. "Don't worry—she's really amazing. Just tell me everything!"

With that, Jeeves elaborated about everything in detail, about how his ancestors scoured every inch of this place in search of treasure but still could not find anything.

Even if someone did take the treasures away, there should still have been signs—that was why they were convinced that some sort of mystery was at work here.

"Have you heard of the supreme gourd?"

"That's a mythical treasure—everyone would have heard of it. Are you making fun of me, old timer? I've read about the monkey myself!"

Jeeves' expression was dead serious. "Well, in all likelihood, they used a tool like the gourd to hide all the treasures."

Frank nodded. "Strictly speaking, that's not what the gourd does… You're talking about storage rings or dimensional pockets that modern novels use."

"See, that's the problem." Jeeves sighed, appearing spooked. "Just think about it—is such strange stuff possible in this world?"

Frank chuckled. "It's not impossible. People have simply yet to achieve or encounter it."

Jeeves' eyes lit up. "I'll be frank—that's exactly what our ancestors said, as they insisted it really exists. See, the maestro who invented the gimmick lived in Huxlem, which is dozens of miles away from here, and we don't know where his tomb is.

"But according to his descendants, he wrote a poem before his death. It's actually a riddle, and anyone who deciphers it would find his tomb."

Frank quickly asked, "What poem?"

Walking over to a quiet corner, he called Sylvie Wal and told her the whole story.

"Do you really need me? I mean, you have super senses—just sense around!"

It went without saying that Sylvie was mystified.

She was an archaeologist, but to be honest, Frank knew what she knew, as well as things that she did not.

At best, she could date the artifacts better than Frank could. Even with the aid of advanced technology, she would still lose out in riddles or surveys.

"Well, that's the problem. Jeeves insisted there are treasures here, but I've sensed nothing, so I can't sleep if I don't search every nook and cranny."

Sylvie smiled in wry amusement. "Just shut up already—you're just too damn nice and want to help those folks."
